The bartender was nice and we had fun visiting with him it's an old place that has a lot of charm. Would I go back yes but I did not eat so I do not know what the food is like.

Super fun bar in old Plymouth Hotel! Very atmospheric and nostalgic of that "old bar" feeling. Dianne, the owner is very friendly and interesting - and a great chef!! We enjoyed our sandwiches, which were really a cut above! There is a lovely outdoor terrace to enjoy on a pretty day. Conveniently located in the Amador Wine country - a great place to stop in for a refreshing beverage, great food and a nice chat!!!

We had Angel Hair Pesto and Seared Veggies on Polenta. Both were served promptly, arrived hot and the service was good. Someone local told us to avoid this spot, we tried it reluctantly, but were pleasantly surprised. Extensive menu so you'll likely find something to suit your taste, budget or restrictions.

Went to La Cucina Italiana with husband after a day touring and tasting. Unpretentious exterior and advertisement of "Spaghetti and Meatballs" on board outside. Looking for an easy meal, and did we ever find it. Despite this being a set family style dinner, Dianne, the owner and chef was extremely accommodating to our food issues - gluten sensitive and husband who does not eat meat. Dianne prepared a separate marinara sauce on gluten free corn flour pasta for us. Before this arrived we enjoyed a truly sublime salad.

Dianne prepared a salad of mixed greens tossed in olive oil which reminded us of the salad we enjoyed on our trip through Tuscany. It was simple and very much what we needed after a day of touring the area. Coupled with a local Zinfandel, our meal was both more than we could have hoped and satisfying beyond description.

Our second best decision of the day was to dine at the bar. Once the bartender, Luke, and my husband, Andy, started swapping stories, the real fun began. Pretty soon, Luke. - a former professional golfer - was introducing us to local patrons. We met a fifth generation Amador County resident who recommended the Amador Flower Farm and Deaver Winery, both good choices.

The experience was wonderful. We had really good food, fun stories, and met interesting people. Five stars in our book...except for Fox News in background which the lively discussion tuned out.

Great service, unexpectedly great food and terrific terrace outside for a reasonable price. We went in with no expectations and were delighted. Their chef is terrific!
