Great food, well-presented, with outstanding selection of local wines. Folks at a winery outside Placerville, and the owners of the Shenandoah Inn nearby, both recommended this place. My friend and I easily got in on a Friday eve around 6:15, but were told Sat was booked between 4:45 and 8:30. Mushroom "cigars" in phyllo dough are the signature appetizer. The mushrooms are diced - if you have a texture issue with mushrooms but like the flavor, you will love these! Followed with a scallop dish - superbly prepared. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

7 of us came to celebrate the Holidays for an annual event. We could not have had a more perfect time! Jenifer, our server was ideal. Very professional but also personable, calm demeanor but absolutely excellent attention to detail. The food was perfect, 4 people had the prix fix dinner (Monday night) 3 had scallops. Excellent!! We brought our own wine although the wine list is extensive. The corkage fee $15, is certainly fair. I highly recommend this restaurant, special occasion or not!

We recently celebrated my birthday here (the 2nd time of what will be a long tradition) and it was in a word, superb. Micah, our server (who also happens to be the manager) could not have been more helpful, professional and attentive. His recommendations (both food and wine) were spot on and the food was beyond memorable. The quality of the ingredients coupled with the skill and care in preparation are just perfect! We can't wait to come back here again much sooner than my next birthday!!
Obvious tips / Personal recommendations: Don't miss the scallops! Be warned however, they will ruin you for all other scallops you may encounter at other restaurants as they are truly to die for! The mushroom "cigars" make for a very nice starter. Try to work in the Filet as well (I like to order the Filet and add a few scallops)....Heaven on a plate!
Very obvious tip: Slow down...Turn off your phone...Savor every single delicious bite and enjoy every sip....Take a few hours and immerse yourself in the experience...Don't worry, no one will rush you out the door
Last tip: Don't be shy about asking your server for direction, you really can't go wrong. Oh! and maybe go outside your comfort zone just a bit...Octopus anyone?

They are back to what they used to be. When we ate here the last time it was a disaster but they finally got their act back together and dinner was great. Now, this is not a cheap place to eat, but the food is wonderful. We went two nights in a row. First night at a table, our friends don't like to eat at the bar, the second night we sat at the bar. We prefer to sit at the bar and talking to the other customers. They have a very good wine list and three wines on tap from one of our favorite wineries CG d 'Arie.

Excellent choice for a wonderful dinner while in Amador County. Some of the dishes are very creative but all are delicious. Service is attentive but not hovering. It’s nice to find something this nice in an area where bars and diners are more the norm. During the week you can get in without a reservation but on the weekends you’ll definitely need one. Highly recommended. Cheers!
