This place is absolutely gorgeous with amazing views!!! It was a little bit of a walk to our room but it was well worth it! It was warm enough to sleep with the door open to our balcony and you could hear te waves crashing all night. I will recommend this place to all my friends and can't wait to visit again!

There couldn't be a better, more picturesque location on the California coastline. The view was maximized from every public room and it seemed like most guest rooms. Our weather was wonderful, which only added to the beautiful sunset we experienced from the Lobby terrace. Quite a special place.

We met friends there last weekend for a quick getaway.
I will start off by saying the resort is gorgeous. Very high end amenities, good food and the location reminds me of Bacara in Santa Barbara. The rooms are beautiful.
When we first got there there was an event outside our window and we asked to be moved. They moved us over the pool with dozens of screaming children. We retreated back to our original room. Later in the evening after dinner it turns out there was a wedding reception steps from our room with a huge crowd of partying guests as well as loud music. At around 11PM we asked to be moved. We were upgraded to a suite only to be woken at 3am by restaurant workers below dragging chairs, clanking bottles etc.. When we closed the windows we could still hear the noise below and the AC unit was almost as loud. At 7am we called downstairs to complain about the restaurant but nothing was done to stop the noise which now included loud voices etc.
As far as we're concerned it doesn't matter how beautiful the room is if you do not sleep. When we asked for compensation they waived only the fees we never knew about when we booked the hotel ($25 resort fee and $30 daily parking $20 for self parking). The manager on duty said she would have the resort manager call us on monday but we never heard from them. We also were never told the adult pool was closed or that to take a sauna you have to pay a $40 spa fee on top of the $25 resort fee.
We were very disappointed and were exhausted when we headed home.
Peter Cole

Room Tip: The way the building was built I am not sure there is any way to escape the noise from all of the events on one side or the noise from the pool on the other.

Our stay at Terranea was wonderful. The rooms were fabulous, the food was great and the grounds are magnificent. You can easily keep yourself occupied without having to leave the resort. There are miles of walking trails along the ocean and you will occasionally see marine animals such was dolphins. Also there is a wide variety of restaurants for whatever you are in then mood for.

Terranea was a fantastic resort that my husband and I had the pleasure of experiencing this past weekend. His firm chose this venue for a company retreat, and so although I had no say in the choice of vacation spots, I was certainly pleased.

I'll start with the room. We chose a suite to be closer to the water, and WOW, we were right on top of the water! We were literally looking right over a bluff with Catalina Island off in the distance. Absolutely gorgeous! The room was huge, well decorated, and had a very comfortable bed. We had 2 enormous bathrooms and a lovely covered balcony. I think we could have relaxed in our room all day and been completely satisfied.

The grounds are spectacular - its no surprise they host countless outdoor weddings very year. The staff were very friendly, and we didn't try all of the restaurants but were very pleased with what we did try. FYI - the chocolate covered strawberries through room service were the BEST ones we've ever had, bar none. They'll also deliver glasses of wine to your room in lieu of a whole bottle.

Overall we had a wonderful stay, and in talking we couldn't come up with any reason to dock this resort any stars. We would definitely go back (and even pay for it this time)!

Room Tip: The suites are worth it for the view.
