Description: The initial melting of the culinary tradition of ancient Peru with Spanish cuisine, evolved through immigration and influences of French, Italian, Asian and African people, who modified their traditional cuisines with ingredients available in peruvian geography only. The result: Peruvian Gastronomy, the most diverse in the world. Welcome to the world of peruvian cuisine. Welcome to a whole new adventure.

We meet annually with friends for dinner at a new place. Mo Stevens from Auburn chose La Huaca. All four of us enjoyed it. I made a decision to order a vegetarian plate (can't recall name of dish but think it was Arroz Del Bosque—a creamy casserole dish).
And it was outstanding. Better than meat and potatoes. The others had meat or fish. We found the setting to be comfortable, the service top notch. We should return. The mix of Peruvian specialites with Spanish influence is worth checking out. This Peruvian gastronomy is the most diverse in the world, La Huaca informs us on their web page. It is a small place, informal, worth the visit.

We are planning a trip to Peru and thought it would be fun to try some of the cuisine. The reviews were also great for this place so it seemed perfect. We came early on a Monday, so not busy at all. Service was very good and our waiter was great at helping us decide on our selections. We had the Ronda Fria cold appetizer sampler with Pulpo al Olivo (Octopus), ceviche and a potato-based appetizer. We also tried the Antichchos Tres Especies appetizer of chicken, beef and fish skewers. All were very tasty. We shared the Pachamanca Tres Carnes, a large portion of chicken, beef and pork. Also very good. For dessert, it was Suspiro de Limena, a tasty caramel treat and a Chirimoya Cheesecake with fruit and a passion fruit sauce. We were very happy with the flavor, presentation and portion size. The price was a little on the high side, but not bad. Overall, a nice place to try some unique and delicious dishes that you might not otherwise get to experience.

Went with in laws. They and the waiter helped us with selections. Very good appetizers potatoes with peruvian sauce and meat with sweet potatoes and sauce. I had shrimp with lime seasoned fettuccine--tons of shrimp, asparagus, and artichokes. Hubby had salmon that was excellent. Decor was clever also. Great service too

We discovered this wonderful Peruvian restaurant quite by accident and thoroughly enjoyed our meal so much we've returned several times with friends and family. The flavors are subtle and absolutely delicious, blending perfectly for the ultimate in enjoyment. We tried the tray of apps to begin our culinary expedition, and we went from there to an entree, no sharing of those--they were so wonderful.
