This is not a Public House in the way that taverns, inns, and pubs are public houses. This is a public house in the way Tavern on the Green or the Four Seasons is a public house. This is a pricey, swanky and high class restaurant in an otherwise blue collar and historic old Sacramento. I met an old friend here for lunch in this converted former firehouse. The walls are gilded, and boast original oils 12 feet high from the 19th Century. We both had salads, asian chicken and chicken caesar. Both were good, if unremarkable. My friend had chocolate cake for dessert which looked great. I had fruit, which again was good, if unremarkable. They will valet park your car for $5. An important perk in old town, where parking otherwise is a two hour strictly enforced limit. Woe unto you if you try to renew after two hours. They’ll ticket you anyway.

I would recommend for business, friends, and family. As long as the family has no small children and is willing to pay full fare. Come for the “Robber Baron” ambiance.

The Dumnpling House has been recommended to me by several friends and I finally went in. The "decor": is a bit tarnished, the noise is a bit high, but I cannot remember better pot stickers than the ones I had today at lunch. They were nicely cooked, which is no big trick, but the flavor and texture were outstanding. There were 12 on the plate and since their size was not small,. I was unable to finish them, but I look forward to reheating them tomorrow morning. The one (small) rub was that the tasty dipping sauce was in a plastic container so small;l that you might have a hard time dipping the pot sticker into it. They also serve fish and chips that looked good, particularly the chips. Next time, maybe. The outdoor seating is under repair.

Watch football...have a meal. Watch basketball...have a snack. Watch baseball....and just have some drinks.

Firestone is really good for what it is, a great hangout and get loose place. Don't go for the best meal you've ever had but the food is good to in some cases very good. Owned by a family that have had several hot restaurants over the years, they bring with them experience and some pretty tasty dishes.

Go have a beer, a little food and enjoy.

Get the pretzel! Literally the best I have ever ever had. Huge (comes hanging from a metal hanger) and really tasty.

Overall good food and good selection, but the pretzel is what I'll remember. They were so good we got a second one to go (and they put it in a pizza box- that's how bit they are)

Was pretty empty after 1pm...Sat at the bar and the bartender/waitress was helpful and friendly. Ordered chicken sandwich - was pretty good and too much for mid-day meal for me.
