This is one of Sacramento's wonderful, traditional old ice cream parlours from the 1940s. It has generally excellent ice cream with many flavours, including traditional standards plus others. They do great traditional sundaes and the like, plus 50-50s, fruit ice and ice cream mixed together, which are very popular on hot days. Some flavours of ice cream do not impress us, though, such as the chocolate chip cookie dough and mint chip, both kind of mediocre. However, generally their ice cream is outstanding and this is certainly true of their chocolate (with great chocolate flavour with a nicely bitter edge that is great for things like sundaes) or taro. The place still has its classic 1940 decor and architecture plus lots of mostly shady seating outside, in addition to the limited seating inside. It serves food, as well, such as sandwiches. Lines can get long in the middle of the day but they usually move pretty fast.
