Beautiful grounds and a suite looking out at Whitehall Lane's vineyard. It was perfect. The location was ideal to travel north or south down Napa, and an easy trek to the Oakville Cross road to get to Sonoma. Also dog friendly, with a great greensward in front of our room for the dogs to run.

Breakfast was high quality, with hot and cold foods, and a variety each day, which was nice, as we stayed 5 nights.

Service was extremely friendly - in all, a great experience at half the price of a Bardossono or Auberge.

Room Tip: Vineyard view was worth the extra money for us.

We went to Napa valley for a wedding but stayed here rather than where the wedding was. Arrived Friday afternoon. The lobby was closed for an event. They checked us in from the driveway outside the main building. So there was no bathroom to use after a long drive. We would have to wait for the room to use a bathroom. They checked us in quickly and waived generally toward the building where our room was. No bellman. Not even precise directions. The room was large but tucked near the pool and with no view at all other than the door to the spa. It was also the handicap room which we don't like so we asked to change. No luck. Since we had made the reservation months in advance I don't know why we got what was obviously the runt of the litter but the hotel wasn't budging.

It turns out that the entrance to the spa echoes and people go there to exercise early so the room is also very loud early in the morning. So a good night sleep wasn't in the cards. And we had the do not disturb sign on Saturday till about 10. They result was that they didn't make up the room until the third call to housekeeping at dinner time.

They are very proud of the breakfast which is included. I wouldn't be. It is nice enough for a buffet. Sort of like travel lodge but better. It did have lox and bacon but not much fruit or juice (which didn't taste fresh) and no fresh eggs. The bacon was good. But not a reason to stay here.

For over $650 a night (including tax) a place should be special. Or at least nice. Skip it.

The bed was so comfy with heat for the cold evening when we first checked in. I fell asleep even though I was having jet lag.

The breakfast : Scrambled eggs, caramelised bacon, potatoes, oats and quiche for the warm breakfast I so needed. There was also smoked salmon, fresh sweet tomatoes and onions, together with Greek yoghurt in different flavours and breakfast cereals on the side. A good cup of coffee and this breakfast made a great start for a busy day ahead.

Really good location for the wine region. Easy to get to from San Fransisco. Very nice and clean. Would go again and recommend you to try it out. We went on to Yosemiti which was also easy to get to with great scenery

Room Tip: Really nice room

We are a family with two adults and two kids. We booked several month ahead through an L.A. based agency (which we are extremely satisfied with) although that things went wrong. The family size was clarified in the booking - one room with two additional guests.

When we arrived we went to the reception (including all kids) to get our room keys. There were a lot of problems with the credit cards. When we entered into the room with all our luggage on 2nd floor we saw a nice room with a double bed with no additional beds for the kids. Interesting that the receptionist didn't react when she saw our whole family. We first thought that they will bring in beds, but we looked at our booking papers and saw that there must be some mistakes. We went back to to the receptionist and asked for when the beds for the kids will come. It was not ordered she said and we can only add one bed in that room. This was not accepted by us and we also explained that it must be a mistake because on our 3 week US tour all our booking conditions has been the same and we have had no problems with beds for the kids. I started to get upset and I finally said that we have to look for another hotel. Finally someone in the back heard our conversation and suddenly another room showed up but that was not ready yet. That's ok so we started to bring back the luggae into our car. Suddenly a man came and brought us to a double room with a sofa bed. The kids were happy as they had their own room and we took that room. Meanwhile my wife was in contact with our agency person. She in turn contacted the hotel. Just when we started to unpack our things the receptionist called us and told us that there was a double bed room available. We didn't take that. However when we later looked for pillows, sheets, etc for the sofa bed we couldn't find it so we had to contact the reception again to get that fixed. However we had to get in contact with reception two times before it happen. Furthermore, our beds didn't get dressed for the second night.

I hate when there are additional things showing up on the bill, in this case a "resort tax".

But the rooms are comfortable and the hotel's environment is very cozy and calm. The are two very pleasant pool areas as well as an additional fitness room.

I booked the Harvest Inn for my company's Annual Sales Mtg and it was a hit. I took 40 ppl (mostly from NYC area) and 90% of them said the hotel was "Excellent" in a post event survey. The hotel is tucked off the main town drag, it feels special and magical (lots of winding pathways, tudor details, open lawns, amazing flowers, all right next to rows and rows of grapes). The breakfasts each morning were a great way to start the day of meeting, and the mtg facilities were above average. I just wish they would get new mtg room chairs:)

The group booking and event team was attentive and helpful on all levels. Special thanks to Melissa and Rebecca!

I highly recommend the Harvest Inn for personal and business travel/mtg/events.
