This was a recommendation from a friend that is familiar with St Helena and vicinity. The restaurant did not disappoint. They were very busy, but our table was ready and waiting for us when we arrived (we called for reservations a couple of days in advance). This is a small place (they also have a small plates bistro right next door). We were seated promptly. The hostess was very nice and accommodating of our toddler.
The service overall all was very efficient and friendly. We ordered the heirloom tomato and burrata appetizer which was excellent. The tomatoes were very fresh as was the basil A very good start to our dinner.
For entrees, we ordered the risotto with Halibut (this dish changes nightly based on fresh available ingredients), the double cut pork chop, the Monterrey King Salmon, and the pan-roasted chicken. All of these were excellent.
For me, the big surprise was the chicken as it was very well prepared and frankly sets a benchmark for how chicken should be cooked. I wold not normally order chicken, but this one I would again. All of the other dishes were equally outstanding.
If you are in the area, this is most definitely worth a visit. You will not be disappointed.
