I went here with a buddy on a Wednesday night. We sat at the large counter, and had an amazing time. Our server was Amy, and she is the perfect server for this place. She was friendly, knowledgeable and comfortable. She was so real and authentic, and her advice on the menu was spot-on! I had the heirloom tomatoes with burrata cheese. The flavors were wonderful, but I wish the chef would have added more of the fresh basil, and a finishing salt to pop in your mouth. Amy recommended the pappardelle. braised short rib. sage beurre blanc. natural jus and it was sublime. The wine list was perfect for the place.
The decor is very small, and the tables are very cramped together, so prepare for that, but at the counter if felt comfortable, and regulars were all around us. I look forward to going back to Cook, and I will ask for Amy. If you go, tell her Gene and Scott sent you. #YourWelcome!

Although the bar is wine and beer only the food, staff and atmosphere were fantastic. Appetizer big enough to share. Dinner had great unusual options and all beautifully prepared. We all truly enjoy our wine, apps, dinner and dessert!

This was a recommendation from a friend that is familiar with St Helena and vicinity. The restaurant did not disappoint. They were very busy, but our table was ready and waiting for us when we arrived (we called for reservations a couple of days in advance). This is a small place (they also have a small plates bistro right next door). We were seated promptly. The hostess was very nice and accommodating of our toddler.

The service overall all was very efficient and friendly. We ordered the heirloom tomato and burrata appetizer which was excellent. The tomatoes were very fresh as was the basil A very good start to our dinner.

For entrees, we ordered the risotto with Halibut (this dish changes nightly based on fresh available ingredients), the double cut pork chop, the Monterrey King Salmon, and the pan-roasted chicken. All of these were excellent.

For me, the big surprise was the chicken as it was very well prepared and frankly sets a benchmark for how chicken should be cooked. I wold not normally order chicken, but this one I would again. All of the other dishes were equally outstanding.

If you are in the area, this is most definitely worth a visit. You will not be disappointed.

This is a great "little" neighborhood restaurant with 2 separate restaurants. One is for small plates and pizza, the other is pastas! We really enjoyed the margherita pizza and a local beer (in wine country)!

We visited Cook through a recommendation of someone who has been coming to Napa Valley for years and located in the trendy and upmarket St Helena. All produce is sourced locally and the food is fantastic, tasty and simple. Great atmosphere and vibe with lots of people talking and laughing at neighbouring tables. When mentioning to others, they had tried to book but it was already full so do book in advance if visiting at a popular time.
