“Perfect location in San Jose”

This is my second review. i stayed here again last week. The location is fantastic and apparently quite trendy for this area. Close to shops and restaurants.

A bit hard to find the entrance, and while the free breakfasts are good you might need to eat out after a few days.

I like being able to park my car and then just walk around. Valley Fair shopping centre across the road, and BestBuy nearby.

I must say, although I've stayed here many times over the years, this was the best stay yet. And, the Citrus restaurant was magnificent both food and service! Looking forward to next visit.

Room Tip: check out the restaurant, citrus, off of the lobby courtyard. its a hidden gem.

I have been visiting this hotel once a month for a week for the past two years and have become more disillusioned with it over time.
First the positives:
* Great breakfast buffet is included in the room rate
* Friendly service from the bellhop to the restaurant staff
* Good location in the middle of Santana row surrounded by shops and restaurants

Now to the drawbacks which will prevent me from coming back:
* Low water pressure which is made worse by a cheap shower head--seriously I avoid washing my long hair as much as I can, since I can't get the shampoo out of my hair even when taking 30-45 minute long showers. I end up trying to rinse it in the sink, which by the way has drainage problems and almost overflows in the process. I have raised this issue almost every time with management but with no resolution
* Cell phone reception within the hotel is poor for my AT&T service, I cannot accept a call without dropping it and I miss most calls--I am here on business and that does not make my boss happy
* No desk, only a tabletop area that runs across the long wall which is too high to work on comfortably
* The mattresses need to be replaced as they are sagging and keep me from sleeping well
* At times the internet reception is spotty as well and on my last visit was down for most of the day for a few days

So if you are just visiting for a couple of days with the family it's a decent place to hang out, but for a week on business travel, it's not ideal and really not a good value when I consider the drawbacks.

Room Tip: Avoid room 433 it's over the kitchen exhaust system and the French door is leaky

We live in San Jose, so we can say with fair certainty that this is the best place to stay over for short trips through the city. We stayed here one night back in 2009. We loved the hotel. It's USP is that it is on santana row. So you can go out and eat or have a good time. Its fairly quiet despite the location. The rooms were cosy and clean.

This hotel is really good! It's in the middle of a very nice shopping area, with restaurants, movie theatre and lots of entertainment. I've been there several times and wouldn't go anywhere else. The only thing to be careful of is the noise. because the hotel hosts many parties, some rooms may be noisy so make sure you ask for a quite room at reception. The staff is helpful and the breakfast is good. Gym and pool are quite small but functional. Recommended!

Room Tip: ask for a quite room at reception

I travel alot to San Jose for work.

The Valencia is located in a boutique area within San Jose and has nice restaurants and shopping near by.

The Hotel staff are always friendly and very polite.

The bar is nice but usually quiet and a good place to start off for drinks.

The pool area is beautiful in the summer time and always catches the sun.

The weekends can get lively but a negative is that every where closes early.

During the week it is pretty quiet though and doesn't have the hustle bustle you get in San
