Terrific hotel for business or pleasure. Located in a really nice part of town with plenty of places to eat and shop. Staff are very friendly and efficient. In-house breakfast was very handy and the candy bar in the foyer at evening was a nice touch.
I stayed in Valencia for almost 1 week.
pros:
- clean rooms
- refusing the room service during your stay gets you some credit for good from your mini bar (look for a door note inside the room for details)
- polite staff
- amazing breakfast included
- pool & hot tub
- fitness room
- lots of shopping and dining if you are into it
- Winchester house across the street
cons
- two elevators to get to the rooms
- little miscommunications between the hotel team (if you request smth, don't forget to follow up)
- gets very noisy on the weekend
- lots of traffic just to get to and drive from the hotel during business hours
Hotel is run down. Feels generic and souless. Area is good. Internet wifi is an embarasment. In the tech center of the universe you get 2 Mb/s free. There is no option for high speed. I called the front desk and after 15 minutes with tech support they enabled high speed which got me 8 Mb/s. Maybe that's enough for browsing but if you need internet for work stay elsewhere.
Suite hospitality awaits at Santana Row’s only hotel. Hotel Valencia, an upscale, boutique hotel with a nod to Old World Spain that includes lots of extra touches that will be sure to make your San Jose visit a memorable one. We appreciated the well-appointed and luxuriously comfortable rooms. Terrific experience all around!
Pros: located in beautiful Santana row with lots of eatery’s and shops. Breakfast is included, but simple. There is a mini bar and also the lobby is very nice as well as the outdoor patios. Valet is fast and three choices of newspaper every morning.
Cons: The rooms, at least ours had a bit of a smell. The bathrooms are dated. There is not ample plug ups near the beds. Not good for a Silicon Valley guests.

I've walked by this hotel in the past while shopping on Santana Row but never had a chance to stay here. Went there recently for a work related meeting and all I could think was "wow" about the entire experience. Staff was great, check in was fast, room was fantastic with great decor and a comfy bed and considering where this is located, amazingly quiet! The 7th story outdoor bar/patio was a great place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Convenient parking either with valet or self parking and more restaurants in walking distance than you can partake in unless you have a week there. Wish I could've stayed more than 2 nights!
