2 of us went there for lunch and sat outside. Service was great, carnitas tostado was really good. Everything was reasonably priced.

Excellent salsa, enchiladas and chili rellenos. We don’t do meat so can’t comment on that. Solid margaritas.

Service was attentive personal and fun

Building history and stories are bonus. Ask to see the jail!

This highly recommended Mexican restaurant did not disappoint. Delicious food, large portions, great service and beautiful setting. I had an enchilada platter that was huge and priced appropriately. Only about 3 blocks from the mission. Bring your appetite and plan on a siesta afterwards.

Was there in the banquet room for an anniversary party. The food was very good, which isn't always easy when you are service 60+ people at once. We had a choice of Sirloin Steak or Mango Chicken. Personally would have preferred more traditional Mexican food, but that was the choice of the planners, I would guess, not the restaurant. Although the steak did come with an enchilada and the Chicken with a tamale which everyone said was good. And there was guacamole in bowls on the table with chips which was
excellent. Only detraction was the live music, which was good, but made it too loud and hard to hear people talking.

To make the experience even more special, we took the train from Oceanside to San Juan Capistrano ( 30 minutes) and walked a couple of blocks to landmark restaurant which was a favorite of President and Mrs. Nixon. We timed it for brunch . The ambiance is "Old Californio" reflected by menu names ( for those who know California history). We had wonderful service from our lady server. We enjoyed the tableside guacamole, The President's Choice, Fish Tacos, fried ice cream, mudpie. Looking forward to our next visit!
