Fun Trip

Nice, clean hotel along State St., the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

More observations than complaints—-the room service is from a restaurant across the street, which limits options after 21:00, and the elevator is small, so there is a wait and it can be cramped if others decide to ride with their luggage.

Shout out to Andrew with the valet service team.

Definitely recommended.

Beautiful & Clean

Beautiful, clean, friendly staff! Although it's right on State Street, the rooms are very private and quiet. Shout out to Andrew and Antonio, the two valets that assisted us in getting our luggage up to our room! They were friendly, eager, and gave great suggestions for restaurants and activities!

Room tip: All rooms are nonsmoking. Request view of State Street or back for a more quiet experience.

Pleasant stay

This hotel had great charm and is centrally located off State St close to many restaurants and tasting rooms, and a quick 15 min walk to the beach/Funk Zone.

Room- we had a king which was comfortable and the room itself was a nice size. We faced the back of the building so our room was quiet, personally I think the rooms facing State St would be loud at night.

Bathroom- like other reviews stated, the bathroom was small and the shower flooded the bathroom every use. They have a half door on the shower that doesn’t cover the length of the shower head causing flooding every time. It was a nuisance to deal with every day and could easily be fixed if they added shower curtains.

Staff- everyone was pleasant and the daily cookies and tea were nice.

Room tip: We used the daily valet parking and had no issues.

This hotel is a winner!

Lovely hotel in the perfect location for enjoying Downtown Santa Barbara. The hotel is immaculately clean. Lots of added value like delicious afternoon cookies and complimentary bikes to tour the city. Rooms have coffee pots and coffee was also available in the lobby. So glad we chose this hotel. It was perfect.

Perfect location to walk everywhere and lovely hotel

Perfect location on State Street surrounded by so many great restaurants of every cuisine and price range. The city closed State Street to traffic during covid and it has remained closed. It looks like they will continue with the 8 block closure and the hotel is right in the middle of it. No traffic, no exhaust smell when eating outdoors and lots of outdoor cafes up and down the street,

The hotel is historic, lovingly restored and clean. Staff friendly and helpful, and I walked to the beach, the mission, the courthouse, art museum and to many shops from the hotel. My only complaint was that the window in my room would not open to let in the lovely fresh air that Santa Barbara is famous for.

Room tip: Friday nights is student night on State Street and there is a live band ask for a room in the back .
