This is a great little motel, easy to find, clean, quiet and reasonably priced for Santa Barbara. It also had a lovely little pool, which we took full advantage of after a long hot day. I'd recommend The Orange Tree to anyone on a budget, great little road trip motel.

We were pleased with our 3 night stay here. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the front desk personnel were pleasant, helpful, and courteous. The price was well below normal Santa Barbara rates. The Orange Tree doesn't provide a lot of amenities, but at the rate we got ($75), you don't expect many.

Room Tip: Try to get an upper level away from State Street.

Good location on State Street. Older hotel trying to be retro. Large rooms, but the furniture is old and there isn't much of it. Looks like they are trying to upgrade here and there. Couldn't set the alarm because it was broken and the phone is from the dark ages.

Room Tip: get a third floor looking out to the mountains. Large balaconies.

We booked an overnight stay at Orange Tree Inn on our way to LA. The rooms were very spacious with comfortable beds and clean, large bathrooms. The staff were polite and helpful. The pool is large and clean with ample chairs around . Off site parking was good and the main restaurant strip and shops are a comfortable 20/25 minute walk away.
We enjoyed a mid morning walk along the boardwalk the next morning and breakfast nearby - a lovely way to start the day.

Room Tip: First floor rooms may be a bit quieter

Santa Barbara is no cheap city so we went for this motel for one night. I thought Orange tree inn would be a run down and kind of bad experience but I was pleasently surprised! Spacious rooms and a comfy bed. It’s a bit of a walk downtown but a taxi doesn’t cost much. If you’re staying for several nights I would pick a different location. Perfect place to spend a night driving down highway 1.
