So Din Tai Fung Santa Clara doesn't take reservation anymore, first come first serve. On a Saturday we came at around 10:30 (they opened at 10) and the place was full with a line. We weren't picky about where we are sitting so they had a handicap space by the bar - serving the same food - so why not :)
Anyway we ordered the house chicken soup, the sticky rice, xlb pork and xlb crab, wonton in spicy sauce, pork and shrimp shao mai, and potstickers -- and everything was delicious. Service was speedy, each dish came out one at a time so we were able to finish them while they were hot. The seasoning was great, don't over soy sauce the dipping ginger sauce, you want to be able to taste the broth inside the dumpling. No skin was broken so all of my dumplings still had their juices inside - great craftsmanship and top quality.
