We decided to take a trip down to Santa Cruz with our Airstream. Factors involved in our decision making were: distant to the beach, restaurants, scenic area, cost. We did our research online and narrowed it down to the KOA campground and the Santa Cruz Harbor RV Park. We had someone on the Airstream Forum send us a few pictures of the Santa Cruz Harbor RV Park. Just one week before we were going, they still had avl space for the weekend we wanted.
The RV park was conveniently close but not as scenic as other RV parks we've been at. The RV area was just an asphalt road, like a parking lot, right across from the SC Harbor. What's neat about the area was that you can see all the variety of boats, yachts parked in the area. You get full sewer/ electric hookup, you get a picnic table in your space, and some big tall trees that overhang and give you shade in the morning. There's probably about 10 spaces in the area.
You can only back your trailer/ rig into the limited parking space you have. In the day, vehicles are driving back and forth into the harbor so it was a little bit noisy, then at night, it was mostly quiet and safe. It was weird having a security guard parked on the side right near our temporary living space.
For $40/ night, we saved money and would probably stay there again.
