Yan Flower has the best Chinese food I've ever had outside of Taiwan, which is widely recognized to have the best in all of Asia. Ingredients are fresh, flavors are subtle and natural, unlike so much bland fare at most Chinese restaurants in the US, and they don't skimp on ingredients! You get much more value for your money here than any other Asian restaurant anywhere in the US that I've experienced. Other Chinese restaurants seem to pinch pennies and ration a precious few vegetables (usually frozen, not fresh) and pieces of meat in their soups and main dishes, but a large bowl of sizzling rice soup at Yan Flower is a complete meal thick with nutrients that will keep you satiated all day. The pot stickers have a wonderful delicate flavor that puts everyone else's pot stickers to shame. This is where the local Chinese students eat, so you know it's good. The cooks here deserve an award. And the service is perfect--not too much, not too little. I'm so glad I found this place! It is 10 times better than the Taiwanese restaurant in Berkeley, which has been a fixture there for over 40 years!
