This spot is the spot to hit up when in Santa Monica. Delicious drinks and I saw some delicious looking snacks but stayed with drinking since we had just finished Brunch at Sunny Spot (reviewed them as well). Bungalows is a spot similar to a spot I'd imagine in The Hamptons or Montauk.
We stayed here for quite a few hours, and will return when we make it back out West.

We stayed here at the tail end of an amazing 3 week tour of California.
We have stayed in Fairmonts in Canada and they are far superior to this one.
Our room was an 'upgrade' and whilst it had a small balcony with an ocean view, the room was mediocre and the bathroom was TINY!
The most surprising disappointment was the outside cafe area. There was a private function on the day in question and this seems to have depleted all resources. We weee surprised as a hitelbon this scale should be able to lay on something like that without itv being to the detriment of the rest of the services. There was no coordination amongst the staff, guests were constantly complaining about waiting times, wrong orders, and also , as in our case , food did not come together.
However , all this said, when we used this facility in the evening, JORDAN was like knight in shining armour!! What a guy, charming, professional and efficient!! THANK YOU JORDAN!

Kat B,

We appreciate your talking about your stay at The Fairmont. I apologize for your dissatisfaction with our rooms and the services during your stay. However, Jordan in our Lobby Lounge is fantastic and we will definitely be sharing your kind words with him.

The Fairmont is a great club for after dinner drinks and meeting people. We celebrated Friday evening there. Great music and atmosphere with lighted trees in the garden. Stop there the first night in Santa Monica and you‘ll make friends.

This place is a zoo. Took extended family for a visit in early October. Arrived around 11 pm and then waited 40 minutes for sheets for the pull-out couch for the kid whose existence was noted on the reservation. Room was on the quiet side of the hotel, top floor (6) of the Palisades building. Nevertheless, we were awake by around 4 am with the noise of trucks and motorcycles: single-pane glass needs to be replaced with double or triple. Also, they should do the carpet, a suspicious shade of beige probably installed in the 1970s. And the pull-out couch, which creaked terribly and looked like it was built about 1940. And fix the bathtub leak and the damaged enamel on the tub. And install shades on the bathroom window - tinting provides "privacy" but the light gets into the bedroom under the door and especially if one person opens said door while the other is asleep, as happens at times, in life, if not in the imaginations of those who designed the Fairmont Miramar.
My mother's room had flying ants. After she killed about 35 she complained. The man at the front desk said it was "not a problem," which left her in a tizzy, but probably he meant it was a problem he could solve, not that it shouldn't be a problem for her, which it was. He said the hotel was full, but he found her a different room anyway.
Restaurant food was fine and service very competent. I enjoyed having coffee in the morning on the deck.
There was a wedding under the splendid fig tree in the front, which meant moving the valet parking around to the side. We came and went before and after the closure, but I imagine it was a bit of a mess.
The wifi was sporadic and stopped entirely for about twelve hours at one point.
The pool area was very crowded. They jam a lot of people into a small space. The proximity to the beach is good, though (about a four-block walk), and Santa Monica's beach is gorgeous.
The indoor-outdoor gym area is great, but it does not seem necessary to have bikes that require you to create a profile and log in.
They billed me twice for valet parking on two days. Check the final bill if you go.
Canadian Fairmont hotels set a far higher bar. This is an acceptable hotel, though expensive (but it is in Santa Monica). Just don't expect a fabulous resort experience. And bring earplugs.

Room Tip: Bungalows seem quieter, and probably they don't have flying ants very often.
