Don't be fooled by its unassuming dinning room (a bit dim and dated decor), as soon as the friendly staff greeted us at our table, I knew we were (total 6 of us) in a very good place. She was knowledgeable, vivacious and funny. She recommended 3 different wines for each of us to taste, base on our lively and enjoyable conversation about wine of the region - their unique characteristics and growers. And we were all happy with the selection!
The dinner menu has a good selection of vegetarian and house-made pasta dishes, fresh organic local produce, rustic in style yet refined in taste. Everything (steak, pastas, various vegetable dishes) we ordered were excellent, the stars of the dinner were: hot fragrant tomato soup (the best tomato soup I have ever tasted), Mary's chicken with with porcini and crimini mushrooms (the sauce was to die for), and local baby chanterelles (fresh and absolutely delicious). Last but not least, the cheese board! About 10 different kinds from local farms, all "explained" by a different but equally knowledgeable and friendly staff. The owner/chef was wonderful and passionate in his work.
I enjoyed the family/communal atmosphere, very warm and inviting, just made food and wine appreciation so much more fun. It was a great experience, felt like being transported to the good old times in a nice little Italian village! I will definitely return for more food and wine pleasures!
