Excellent location for a our trip to Solvang, CA on our Staycation in California… booked the hotel and it was a good choice, easy to get too ample parking and a cute rustic looking Danish Hotel not a huge hotel also has a pool and jacuzzi , the hotel books up fast, they have excellent customer service the staff was very helpful and nice and friendly… would stay again
Avoid this place at all costs. The staff is incompetent and the entire place smells like a moldy sponge. We spent 40bminutes trying to check in. The guy at the front desk asked to the care of the 7 ppl behind us. Then, when he was done he walked away. We stood there in amazement for 5 minutes then heard his cell phone. We went around the front desk and asked if we were going to be helped, and he said "I'm on my lunch brake. Worst customer service I've experienced in my life. We canceled our room with them and went to Wine Valley inn. Wine valley made up for ther horrible experience We had at Svensgaard and then some.

Refer to the reviews on Yelp to give a true reflection of how terrible this place. Hotel is a dump, dirty, mold, elevator doesn’t work, staff will give you the run around.
Catfished in the photos, read the reviews and take a close look before coming here. Staff is rude and unhelpful with issues for our room. Carpets are stained all throughout the rom with black and brown stains. Bathtub has someone else's hair in it near the drain. Elevators are out of order and there's no safe in the room.
Spend the extra 200 dollars and stay somewhere nicer in Solvang. Seems like this place can get away with a lot since it's in a desirable spot.

This hotel is totally misrepresented on its and other websites the photographs that are displayed must have been taken 10 or 12 years ago, our room was tired and desperately in bed of cleaning and redecorating. The reclining armchairs and curtains looked dirty and needed replacement. The final insult came when the advertised breakfast turned out to be a danish pastry presented in a cardboard box without any drinks.we were told we had drinks in our room. Unfortunately it was too late for us to change by but be warned things are not what they seem with this hotel

the worst room i have ever stayed in.
i would have left but this was the last available
$480 for one saturday night in a "view suite."
the view was across a 20' wide living space with hip high windows looking out upon 4 lanes of traffic, an abandoned commercial building and, yes, the hills beyond.
i asked if the room faced the street and was told "no it looks out at the pool. NOPE.
lots of motorcycles and revved cars through the night!
the bathroom shower and tub were unsafe and un useable.
the tub bottom was peeling enamel over a rusted iron bottom. the plastic shower curtain was rife with black mold. the bathroom heating was provide by a 3 bulb overhead heat lamp. two bulbs were not working.
we parked across from the elevator (we were on the third floor) next to a parking space filled with metal junk.
we carried our luggage to the elevator and were stopped by a red construction cone and sign taped to the elevator door, saying "out of order." we then realized the metal "junk" we parked next to were the gears from the elevator!!
we walked past sheets of plasterboard leaning against the passageway wall, and up two flights to our "view suite."
the furniture was thrift store rejects, the kitchen chairs' seats were food/wine/who knows what, stained. there was no closet just an hanging iron with two hooks!
the bed was soft and the pillows rock hard.
stay away from this place. i wouldn't pay $5 to stay here.
