This is perhaps because of the timing and what we ordered. There were 4 in our group, for lunch. One person ordered from the menu. The other three picked the buffet option. In a city not in the heart of Silicon Valley -- hey, about 100 Indian restaurants are within a 2-mile radius of this one -- my rating and review would be higher.
Food is good and acceptable... but, with this level of competition, they have to try harder to climb the ladder, at this location....!!!
The off-the-menu item was Makki-di-roti (corn-flour roti bread) and Sarso-ka-saag (vegetable dish from mustard greens) was very good: authentic and tasty..
The buffet? This gets mixed reviews. Here is an item-by-item commentary:
Eggplant pakora: Acceptable
Roti and paratha: Very good
Chaat items (in the buffet): Ho-hum, some below par
Mini-Uttapam: Not acceptable (cardboard-like taste)
Dal Makhani: Good
The point is simply this... it was good, but (as an out-of-town traveler), I would not make an attempt to revisit this place.
