Owner description: A popular winery in Temecula Valley.
Reviewed April 4, 2018

My wife and I visited the Bella Vista Winery in Temecula this week and were so impressed with their beautiful inside tasting room and their great tasting wines. This winery is the oldest winery in the Temecula Valley, and has such a wide range of very tasty wines. Imre and Cizella Cziraki the wife and husband owners are from the country of Hungary, and have worked very hard to make their American Dream of owning a winery come true. Imre met us at the tasting room and was so nice as she explained the history behind every wine we tried. Imre is so knowledgeable about the wines, and the Temecula Valley area. Out of the 24 wines that are available for tasting, we tried 16 of them. And they were all delicious ! I'm serious, they were all very good ! My favorites were the White Melot 16, and the Rozmaring 09 which is made from Hungarian grapes which the Bella Vista Winery is the only winery who grows them. My wife's favorite wines were the Cabernet Franc 05, and the Syrah 12, made with Organic grapes, which again this Bella Vista Winery specializes in. The winery also has an upper lake area where parties, weddings, and wine tastings can be done. The view from this area of the Temecula Valley Grape Fields is breathtaking. This off the main road winery in Temecula is a MUST SEE !

This we were told was the first winery in Temecula, and it looks like it. Not kept up or clean at all. The smell right when you walk in is a bit much. Musty smell, and they have table cloths that look like they have be picked up from the good will. Wine is ok but nothing to brag about, and i did have a rad wine that tasted like it was turning. very dusty, and dirty looking. The bathrooms are the worst. First you have to walk back down the driveway to get to them, and then they are more like a upgraded porta potty. The locks need fixed, and the building looks like an old garage not a winery tasting room.
Much nicer places in Temecula for the same price and less that have really great wines and are very clean and much nicer then this place.

This place is great. We found it by accident and so glad we did. The wines are very good; great staff, very attentive and engaged, and very generous wine pours on the tasting. They also have a cute gift shop; buy it when you are there as you won't see anything comparable elsewhere. Also some good deals on wine. We really enjoyed it and will be back again.

Originally Cilurzo Winery which was the first vintner in Temecula. Cilurzo had outstanding wines...the best Petite Sirah in the area. It was family owned and run and Vince, Audrey and the family couldn't have been more welcoming and knowledgeable. Bella Vista is a far cry from Cilurzo. The owners are not very hospitable and their wines are absolutely terrible. With so many other growers in the valley, spend your time and money elsewhere.

We always look for wineries that are dog friendly and this was one of those. Giselle was out host and was great to talk to while tasting. She was from Hungary and alsi part of the family that owns the winery. The wines were good and her pours were generous.
