Description: The Blue Wing was opened in 2005 on the site of a well known local saloon of that name that operated from the 1880s until the 1920s. It is separated by a relaxing garden from the fully restored Tallman Hotel. A full bar and seating inside is complimented by seating in the garden and on a heated veranda. Quality food and drink is served in a relaxing atmosphere at lunch and dinner seven days a week. Live music is performed at Sunday Brunch, Sunday Supper, Monday Night Blues and for the special $20 Tuesdays.

We went for dinner on the Fourth of July, and were very happy to find a restaurant open. I had the $20 Tuesday meal which varies weekly. It was barbecued chicken, asparagus, watermelon salad and tasted delicious! The waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. After dinner we went outside to hear a local celtic/bluegrass band play. We sat in the Adirondack chairs near the large fountain under the sycamore trees, and it was a very pleasant evening.

Very interesting menu. It was hard to choose. We had a stuffed chicken breast. It was amazing. It was stuffed with cheese, prosciutto, and I think artichoke hearts and grilled. Nummy nummy. The artisan bread was made there as is most of the items. They grow some of their own veggies and get the rest at farmers market. VERY reasonable. Wonderful service and we ate outside under the shade trees. They smoke their own cheddar and hand make ice cream.

This is our second time eating here. Unfortunately it has been a while since we have traveled in this region but the restaurant left an impression with us the first time and we wanted to try it again.

The outdoor patio and courtyard is perfect for alfresco dining. It's cool, lush and has a water feature that puts you at ease after a long car ride.

This time I had the Caesar salad with salmon and it was excellent. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the portion size was very generous. My husband had the Caesar with grilled chicken and he was pleased with his choice as well.

Service was attentive and efficient.

This 1853 place is one of the originals in this time period in this small olden town. We wanted to go some place new and also different. Here we were able to do both for my wife's birthday. The insides still looks like the turn of the century style. After a movie in the city on Lakeport it wasn't that far from our Kelseyville home. So we pushed further west then north to the other side of Clearlake. We have known about this restaurant but never tried it in these years after my 2005 retirement. It is a little pricey maybe that is why we saved it for a special occasion till now. This and the Tallman Hotel share the same property also the same age. Both are registered landmarks. As you enter you see this long bar like those in the western & gold rush days. Covers the whole south side with the tables to eat at along the north wall. They are all set up for small parties except for a couple larger ones at the end. If larger groups want to dine right outside the north side there is covered seating from the outside porch. All of those tables are larger. A perfect place to eat out in the summer months while still lite. In colder weather they do have a bunch of overhead heaters. The hotel is right across from the restaurant with a nice garden where you can have drinks or also eat. Not that large of a menu but it has high end and also less expensive items too. We ordered only the main dishes that did fill our tummies quite well. Salads and soups and also appetizers are extra but we really didn't need them. We even shared each others dishes like we normally do. Takes a little waiting time but well worth it as those great chefs prepare you a perfect meal. With yummy meals the service is right there too. You should bring your camera like I always do for both places make perfect shots to add to your albums. Yes both of those rate a 5-star by themselves or separate.
