A low key, friendly, ultra clean and comfortable hotel with v convenient parking and helpful staff. The bed was perfect and the sheets were crunchy clean... shower could have been a bit more focused but I had no problems getting clean! (Plenty of hot water at this place... ) My 'room' had two rooms .. one with a bed and then a little 'living' room with a frig, microwave and coffee maker. The staff were very understanding and .. allowed me to change rooms on the night that a family with exceptionally noisy children unfortunately had the room next door. Mostly very quiet and you can walk to the local restaurants. There's a City Mart down the road along with a Whole Foods and a Starbucks. Of course, the real draw is the proximity to the mountains... Reudi Reservoir.... hiking.... all very close. Very safe location... but do bring a flashlight if you arrive late .. the outdoor lighting is ecologically sound, consuming no energy (as it's non-existent) but then -- this is the sort of place where you must arrive early, go to bed early and get up early so as to take advantage of all that the area has to offer....lastly - wifi was fab...

Room Tip: all of the rooms seemed fine to me....

Not many choices for a stay in Basalt. But, this is a nice one. In the middle of a small town that makes it money on the tourist/fishing/skiing crowds. Inn was pleasant enough, the staff very friendly and helpful. Make your plans and reservations early - everything fills up pretty quick.

Room Tip: Get a room in the back, away from the street and you get a nice little lawn outside your room.

We spent in this hotel 1 night. We had a room with 2 bedrooms. Everything was clean. WiFi is for free and works really well. Hotel is located in a middle of a town where you can walk everywhere. Really good choice for short stay. The only disadvantage is: darkness. It is dark in the bedroom and you feel there is no day light. Also no kettle for tea.

Planned to stay only one night but decided to stay an additional night. Rates are below normal for this area too. Great place to stay, rooms are new and beds are very comfortable. Will stay here again

This is a convenient location and rooms have been updated. Breakfast is a convenient feature as well. All this and it is affordably priced as well. There are many layout options, but even the base rooms have plenty of room.

Basalt is a small, very pleasant Colorado town. The Basalt Mountain Inn sits about exactly in the middle of the town's many attractions - interesting shops, galleries, sporting stores and restaurants, all within easy walking distance of the Inn.
This area is a fishing and skiing destination and Basalt Mountain Inn provides clean, affordable, comfortable lodging within easy reach of world-class outdoor sporting activities for which Colorado is known - without the crowds.
We visited the Inn mid-March and stayed four nights. These are not luxury accommodations but they are functional and affordable and very well situated for exploring the engaging town of Basalt and taking in the spectacular surrounding mountain scenery. Add to that a free breakfast and a helpful, cheerful staff and you can't miss.

I had never been to Basalt before. Aspen and Snowmass, I have been to many times. And whenever I go there, I stay there, not Balsalt. This time, I was in the area with my son for a couple of skiing at Snowmass and the Basalt Mountain Inn offered a great deal. So we give it a try and I am glad we did. We stayed in a room that was divided into two separate bedrooms with a common living room area and a bathroom. The room was modern and clean. It was really perfect for us. The location is great, you walk off the property and you are right on Main street with lots of good restaurant options. The drive to Snowmass in the morning was easy, about 20 minutes. Breakfast was basic, but I appreciate the fact that they provide something. My one quibble is that the walls are a little thin and you can hear sounds from the neighboring room. I thought it was odd that anyone was next door because when we were there most of the rooms were unoccupied except the one right next to us. Overall, we made the right idea to stay in Basalt and if you do stay in Basalt, the Bsalt Mountain Inn is the place to stay.
