When you walk on Main you get the feel of the mountain small town. There are lots of restaurants and shops. If you travel to summit county you will miss out if you don't go to Breck and experience Main Street

Main Street is probably the most charming ski downtown of any ski resort in North America. It contains an extraordinary number of extant Victorian buildings that together house a wonderful array of shops and restaurants.

A great way to spend your apres ski time - and I’m sure it’s just as charming in the summer...

Main street Breckenridge was settled in the late 1800's and has been there ever since. It has seen the height of the Gold Rush, and the ills of waste of the dredging era, but it has stayed right where it is for many, many decades. That is why Breckenridge is the #1 destination ski resort in North America, and often has the highest skier count, in direct competition with is neighbor way down I-70, in an echo chamber (called Vail). Breckenridge is not a "purpose built resort", which are downgraded severely in the Alps, but we have so few ski resorts, the average American doesn't know what cultured Europeans want at a ski resort. But the Metrics are many, and a resorts in the Alps that were built for the purpose of being a ski resort are shunned! Because of the Main Street and the year round population, Breckenridge scores the highest points for me! Shops, restaurants, activities and people exist year round, and that's why I always want to go to Breckenridge to ski and play afterwards! There is plenty of both!

Great little town, with quaint shops and restaurants and bars, also a great escape room we went to. I even got to record my english accent in one of the games as a double agent spy! It was lit up at night and was so pretty, friendly people to

What a fun little mountain town! You can't miss it. Just walk around, shop, or try out one of the many restaurants. It was less crowded while we were there in November, so it felt peaceful. However, the week before I guess nothing was open, so be aware that this is a seasonal town as far as certain things being open. The visitors center is right down Main Street, so you can find out all there is to do in Breckenridge.
