“Perfect oasis before a half marathon”

Sherry did an amazing job with directions, we found the place with no hiccups. The house and property was ideal for a mountain lover like myself. We sat outside for dinner taking in the views of the mountains and the smell of nature! It was fun trying to figure out where the original cabin was in the house. I loved the original cabin was turned into a bedroom. The rest of the house was beautiful and spacious. The only critique would be with water pressure in the master bathroom is not very strong, but that is pennies compared to the enjoyment we had renting this space. It was a great relaxing time before a run. I will definitely rent again, maybe for my bachelorette hiking party!

“False Advertising”

We were quite disappointed when we arrived that the house we rented was advertised quite different from the actual property. Your listing for the vacation rental states; 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, free wifi internet, including a "newly renovated master suite full bath". In fact the property has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and limited internet. The 4th bedroom you advertised has no window and no privacy and has a very sour odor. You also never provided an address for the property even after several email inquiries and phone calls that you never responded to, which made finding the property difficult and time consuming.

You listed the rental vacation home with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, yet the bathroom in the master suite was locked, the internet was not working and very slow from the moment we entered the property, and the 4th "bedroom" had no window and smelled like wet wood, and there was no privacy between the 4th bedroom and the "master suite". The "master bathroom" was clearly under construction, not "newly renovated", and unusable by guests.

I rented your property with the understanding as you represented in your vacation rental listing that there was a master suite with bath, and by the term "master suite" the room and attached bathroom would offer privacy. There was no privacy for the master bedroom as there is a door entrance through to another room that your have listed as a bedroom, that, does not lock, nor offer any sound barrier. Your website clearly states three bathrooms. I would not have rented a place without a master bath. I am disappointed that we were forced to share bathrooms with the children.

This is false advertising. There are plenty of very comparable vacation rental properties in town for $150-$165 a night for 4-5 people that were available when I rented your vacation rental in March of 2015.

Along with the intermittent internet, that was not working from the first moments that we entered the property, that we immediately contacted you about and was a problem for our entire vacation, which makes my staying in touch with my work difficult. You advertised "free wifi internet", there was not any information in your property listing about limited internet, the lack of a master bathroom, lack of privacy and sour smell from wet wood in what you have listed as a 4th bedroom, and you never provided an address of your property and never responded to phone call inquiries, nor emails asking the property address, which led us to aimless driving around attempting to find the location. All of which is unacceptable and not as you advertised.

On a positive note the property is very nice and the hot tub was clean.

We're sorry to hear that you found the property less than enjoyable and surprised that other than the slow internet, we did not hear any of this from you until five days after you left the property and asked for a refund.

Regarding internet, we're far away from a major city, which is why people come up here, to enjoy the seclusion. We clearly ask that no internet movies, etc are 'streamed' as the satellite internet (and yes the wi-fi is free but not unlimited bandwidth) is always going to be a challenge far up in the mountains. While you were at the property we contacted the internet provider three times on your behalf, purchasing additional gigs of data each time in order to (hopefully) keep you and the children happy. The internet provider confirmed that although you promised this was not the case, the data usage was indeed "streaming media". We had a couple who were med students here for eighteen days doing research online and studying, and near the end of their stay only purchased one gig of data to satisfy their intense internet needs.

When you rented the cabin, the published description at the time said, "currently under construction" with no finish deadline published. The property was 98% complete upon your arrival, with only the tile in the master shower unfinished and there were two other bathrooms complete, seemingly adequate for five people. The "en-suite" quote you stated in your review was published online after the master shower and bath were completed and three months after you rented the property.

Regarding the fourth bedroom, this is a lovely little room that is part of the 100-yr old cabin. There are two doors, one to the master suite and one to the hallway. The door to the master never needs to be used unless for emergency exit, and no we're not a recording studio, so although the door comes down to the carpet, it would not be completely 'soundproof' to the master bedroom.

As far as directions to the property, which were given to you in the beginning, we never received a phone call or voice mail from you indicating that you could not find the property which is unbelievably simple to find given the rural 'feel' of the property; we've also researched our email and find not one email from you asking for additional directions. Only one text stating that you were having a "little difficulty" but by the time I responded an hour later, you stated "we found your lovely home", so this comment in the review is perplexing to say the least.

Your request for a refund five days later is also perplexing, as one would think that if you were so disappointed with the property, you would have let us know this in the beginning, not after enjoying the free firewood, the hot tub, the deck by the pond, the newly remodeled property, the views...
