Obie’s Barbeque
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$10 - US$40
Cuisines: Barbecue
Description: At Obie’s, we’re all about the simple things: fresh mountain air, rock-n-roll, and traditional Texas-style barbecue. Conveniently located just off of I-25 at Exit 74, we’re a must-stop for locals and tourists alike -- and for good reason. Our meats are slow-cooked to perfection over a real pit and served up with a side of small-town hospitality in a fun, laid-back space that feels like home. So whether you’re a hungry traveler or Colorado born and raised, come enjoy the simple things here with us. You’ll be glad you did!

The atmosphere was amazing! It was a cross between a 50s diner and a Cracker Barrel! There seemed to be only one person working that day, since she was serving ice cream to a customer, greeted and seated us, waited our table, and checked us out! I don’t know her name but she’s was so nice! Even if she was the only one working haha!

The food, was alright. It filled me up for the rest of the day, but it was pretty greasy. It didn’t bother my stomach at all (I’m not use to greasy foods so that’s great!) but it just left a..greasy feeling..you know the feeling where the inside of your mouth and your fingers feels a bit weird and you feel a bit disgusting because of it? its that haha

Overall, pretty good food (cause of the grease obviously haha) and nicest worker :D

This place is right off Interstate 25 at exit 74 in Colorado City, CO just outside of Pueblo. Ordered the basket of ribs- a pound of pork baby back ribs which were Fabulous!! On the table were several selections of BBQ sauces to pour over them. We also ordered the half pound chuck angus burger on a Brioche bun. The bun was soft and the flavor of the burger was one of the best I ever had. Also order sweet potato fries which were delicious. If you go away hungry it's your own fault because the portions are plenty. Put Obie's on your places to stop when in the area, you won't be disappointed.

First time visit with local. Wasn't too hungry but finished because beef brisket was delicious. Converted Texaco service station.

Great food stop on the Interstate (Exit 174). Looks like a biker place, and there are a lot of bikers that stop in, but more the weekend biker types. It's elegant, clean and very friendly service. Very good barbeque too, we loved it, with plentifull portions. Rooftop patio, game room for adults or kids, gift shop, great place. Easy off/on access to freeway too. Will make this a normal stop on our Abq to Denver trips from now on.

So glad we decided to stop at Obie's! It's a cool little restaurant that serves fantastic Texas BBQ. The brisket had a smoke ring around it that was proof these folks know what they're doing. The baby back ribs were fall off the bone tender. These guys know how to get fried Okra right as well. If you find yourself on the southern outskirts of Pueblo, make this Colorado City a must-stop, you will not be disappointed.
