Where do I begin? How about the middle-east where spices, meat and herbs collide to give you a healthy, flavor packed meal sensation. And then bring this authentic, fresh menu to Colorado Springs and serve it in a clean environment with friendly wait staff....it just doesn't get any nicer. And charge only about $10 for a full sit-down meal!
OK- you've already figured out I like this place, but really, if you like grilled kabobs, falalfel, hummus, baklava, Greek salad, chicken schwarma, grilled pita bread, lamb, etc., you're gonna enjoy this place too. Add hot sage tea and some tabbouleh to round out your meal and - BOOM - you're a happy camper!
Small place in a small shopping center, but do yourself a favor and visit this place.

Went to lunch here with several friends. The décor was Middle Eastern as was the food. The five of us enjoyed it immensely. I had a chicken kabob dish which was great, another had lamb which she enjoyed. The rose tea was also very good. The complimentary baklava dessert was good, but very sweet. It usually is. Service was excellent and they were very busy!

We tried the Falafel sandwich with was packed with flavor and fresh ingredients. We had a side of saffron rice that was both beautiful and delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Everyone we encountered was smiling and happy. We love that, it makes the food taste even better!

Authentic middle eastern cuisine, more Lebanese/Palestinian than Israeli, attentive owner and excellent prices along with very tasty falalfel, baklava and chicken schwarma though the latter is served sandwich style. All very flavorful and again quite authentic (lived in that part of the world for several years). Been there several times now and everything is still very good, unassuming location in a strip mall.

If you like Middle Eastern food and don't want to break the bank, Heart of Jerusalem is the place to go. Offering both lunch and dinner selections as well as take-out, this little Cafe across the parking lot from King Sooper's grocery store is an affordable little gem. You can't go wrong with almost anything you order, and they even have vegetarian and gluten-free options on the menu.
Our party (all adults) tasted a variety of dishes from pita bread sandwiches to kabob sampler, and everyone raved about their choice. Also, if you are not in the mood for a big meal, you can try a variety of appetizers. Dolmas, falafel, and hummus all have that tried-and-true, home cooked taste. Don't forget to order some baklava for dessert - a traditional, small rectangle, pistachio sprinkled variety. If you are visiting during the summer months or simply like iced tea, sage tea is a must.
This particular location doesn't offer much seating room, but it's definitely worth the visit despite the slightly cramped quarters.
