Have to say overall our stay at My Place was disappointing. We booked our stay prior to the hotels opening (2 queen rooms with recliner, June 28-July 1), received a confirmation and pricing. We had booked 2 rooms for 2 persons per room. 5 days prior to arrival we received an email confirming our reservation, however only one room was listed. We called the hotel to confirm we had 2 rooms and were told we did indeed have 2 rooms booked.
Our son arrived before us and was told only 1 room was available and the hotel was fully booked. We sent him our reservation information since we were still an hour from arrival, again the hotel could not find the reservation nor did they have 2 rooms booked for us. They offered to put blow up mattresses in the one room to accommodate 4 adults and 1 child. This was not acceptable, the manager intervened.

When my husband and I checked in we were given a handicapped room. Now we could understand the mistake but I had called 5 days prior to arrival to confirm we had the 2 rooms we reserved, plenty of time to correct the reservation.
We used the handicapped room for the first night of stay. The room was fine however there was no hot water, the hand held shower dribbled out at best and there were limited toiletries. Since you are billed for the room at check in if we had know the hotel had no hot water we would have moved to a different hotel.

The next morning we requested to be moved to the room we originally reserved. We were moved to a room on the 3rd floor. The room was fine but again we had no hot water and the toilet ran off and on all night. We were told that since the hotel was full that was the reason for no hot water. Now we tried the water temperature several times during our stay, at different hours and it always remained the same. We had several family members staying at the hotel and we all had the same experience.

When we checked out the next morning the water was finally hot, but the billing for our 2 rooms was incorrect. The clerk at the desk said we would have to speak to the manager.

When we arrived home we sent an email to the manager. We were told they did not receive our reservation for 2 rooms, only 1 and she would research the billing, no response to the phone call we had made to confirm 2 rooms. I sent the original confirmation information with the cost of our stay and what we were billed at check out. This was on July 1st.

On July 5 and 6 we called and left a message for the manager for call back. By the evening of July 6, after no call back, we sent another email. The manager responded that she could still not find our reservation even after I sent the a original documents but that the hotel would refund the difference in cost. The refund was credited to our account on July 13.

We can understand that a newly opened hotel has some issues to resolve but some basic items have been overlooked.

Pros: The hotel is neat and clean but has very basic items stocked. If you are staying with a family for an extended visit bring your supplies as there are none in the room besides a coffee pot with 2 styrofoam cups, paper towels, dish soap, bath soap, small shampoo, small conditioner and a toaster, no pots, no dishes, no silverware. The location is excellent since all our activities were at the Air Force Academy. Breakfast is served as a pre order with a room charge.

Cons: Customer service was spotty and the excuse was we just opened and we have a full house. The staff was very pleasant but not helpful.

Room Tip: 3 rd floor was quieter

From my understanding the hotel is brand new and only opened a few weeks prior to our arrival. Overall our stay was pretty good. The checkin process took awhile as we waited about 15 minutes for someone to come to the desk and then once he arrived we got checked in which took another 20 min. Leo was great though as he was having issues with the system and key maker. But I was very impressed with Leo and his ability to make the situation comfortable and not stressful. Our first morning we experienced no hot water but the second day we had some hot water. Room was fairly clean some things were missed from the construction as the room was dusty and had sheet rock dust on top of the TV, Artwork, end tables etc. overall it was a pretty good experience. I can’t stress enough how great of a job Leo did!

Booked a last minute vacation and traveled to Colorado springs with family including 2 kids. Overall, our experience was mixed.

Pros about the place:
1. Good place if you are traveling on a budget
2. Attached kitchen.

Cons about the place:
1. Our room (which was right next to the housekeeping area, bathrooms and the elevator) was not clean when we moved in and we could not get an alternate room. We gave them the benefit of the doubt however since this is a brand new place and management could have still been in the process of getting their operations sorted out. The manager gave a discount on account of this oversight (which we appreciated).

2. Housekeeping only comes in once every 4 days, so if you need fresh towels within that timeframe, you have to swing by the front desk and get it yourself.

3. We also had no toiletries in the bathroom when we moved in and had to go to the front desk to get some.

4. Rooms are a bit small/snug for a family of 4.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floor for great views and which are away from the areas with high foot traffic.
