When we arrived at « the Cottonwood furnished rental » (a family of 6, including 4 small children, from 10 to 2) we were surprised and really unhappy: the rental house is in fact the basement of the owner’s house. And there is no actual window you can open to the outside (the only 2 windows are fenced and « burried ») The pictures don’t let to see it clearly (windows are shown with closed curtains). Moreover as it is forbidden in France to rent a basement, with no actual window to the outside, we didn’t even imagine it could happen…
HOWEVER, we got used to this « appartment ». As our trip was during summer, we spent a lot of time in outside activities. So the impression of being underground was diminished.
Moreover the decoration of the appartment is pretty nice and everything is VERY CLEAN, which is pretty rare in rental houses. And the owner is very pleasant and helpful (for different small demands).
An additional little problem is about the kitchen accessories. There is not enough cutlery and not enough pans, … if you plan to cook every day.
Eventually we really enjoyed our stay in Colorado Springs. But if we knew clearly the situation of the rental house before our arrival, we would never choose this house.
