Previous posters have summed it up very well. It was clean, beds were comfy, and breakfast was good. Staff very nice and helpful. Cons were paper thin walls and internet so slow to be unusable just for checking emails and surfing. Room was a little pricey for what we got, but July is the high season, and there's few options in Creede.

Management surely knows which rooms have the best soundproofing and strongest internet. I would ask for one of those when making reservations. Highlights of our Creede visit was the musical "She Loves Me" at the theatre, and driving the Bachelor Loop

I stayed here two nights i June while fishing the Rio Grande. Very good breakfast and comfortable beds. Pillows need some improvements as they're overstuffed and hard. I used my camp pillow instead. Definitely recommend this little gem.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night as part of a cycle tour, we could of easily stayed longer. Overall this is a very nice motel, clean and comfortable with a great breakfast. The owners were friendly and helpful.

Our double (2 queen bed) room was very clean and quiet. Due to the off season, it was very quiet for our 1 night stay...which we liked. Easy check in and out. You can drive up to the door and unload luggage, coolers, etc., really easy. There is a coffee maker, fridge and microwave in room. The Snowshoe Lodge is a perfect place to stay to drive the Bachelor Loop, visit the town of Creede, and walk to nearby restaurants. We drove the Bachelor Loop which has amazing history. Make sure you purchase the $3 Bachelor Loop History Tour booklet at the Creede Visitor Center & Chamber of Commerce. It gives you history and B&W photos of what life was like in the 1890's. Afterwards, we walked downtown Creede and had a light lunch and drank brews at Tommyknocker's. A great plus about the Snowshoe Lodge is that there is a hiking trail nearby. Later in the afternoon, we hiked from our room to trailhead (located behind one of the other units) and hiked to Pinnacles, which is 1 mile all uphill. There were great views of downtown Creede and the beginning of the Bachelor Loop from this hike. In the evening, we ate dinner at Kip's Grill, very good food. Since we were there at the off season, we missed out on the breakfast at the Snowshoe. It worked out okay since we had to get up early the next morning to drive to the Hanson Mill area to hike the 16+ miles to Wheeler Geologic Area. Beautiful hike and awesome rock formations. Before heading to Wheeler Geologic Area, make sure you ask locals about the area, watch the weather, have enough water, food on you and you can hike the distance. Thankfully, the weather was sunny and dry and we are fit. It's still a full day and extreme workout though. We will definitely stay at the Snowshoe Lodge again when visiting Creede.
