First time here, probably won't be back. Highlights; diverse but small menu, food tasted good, no wait to be seated, reasonable cost. Lowlights; apathetic wait staff, saw cooks eating with fingers while cooking, awkward table layout (all tables off busy service aisle)

4th of July night, so we made reservations. Which is a nice option, although we didn't need them (the restaurant was only about 1/3 full). We might have learned why . . .

We were seated in either a dead zone or in a section with an inattentive server. We sat for . . . what seemed like a long time (probably only 5-10 minutes) . . . without anyone stopping by. The tables near us (i.e. right next to us) received a visit from a server immediately. My friend finally grabbed the host and informed him we "haven't even received water yet." Heh heh. I thought that was a little . . . honest, but it had the desired effect. A waitress almost immediately appeared at our table with water and a smile. She was very friendly and attentive for the rest of the meal.

The beer selection was a bit limited for a Colorado town (would have liked to see more microbrew choices). We started with the fried olives. I know. Right? What were we thinking? But they tasted good, if a little strange. Not sure I'm a fan. We think they had a bit of a lingering effect on our digestive tract.

We each ordered the ruby red trout . . . which I'm convinced was actually salmon. Google says otherwise, but I'm not sure. It was properly cooked and tasted pretty good, but . . . just didn't seem like trout (we'd hoped for something that was more local - Google tells us that ruby red trout is farm-raised, not wild caught).

We also each had a cup of the potato soup, which actually came in a cup. This was delicious - even in July. Would be killer after a day on the slopes.

So quite a mixed review. For the price, we expected more. A better menu. Better service. Better food. Not horrible, but not really notable, either. Maybe we were spoiled by the local restaurants down in town. We just left feeling . . . unsatisfied.

Both the breakfast bar and menu breakfasts were great. We especially enjoyed the made to order omelets.

Nice to find truly good food up on the mountain, rather than having to head into town .... between 4 people the Caesars salad was ample and good, the homemade pizza was truly loaded with tasty ingredients, and the Trout over wild rice with asparagus was top notch .... all at fare prices and attentive service

My fiancee (now wife) held a wedding rehearsal dinner at the Woodstone Grille (located in the Grand Lodge at Mt. Crested Butte) on March 21, 2015. Our wedding party was 25 people, including us. The staff at the Woodstone Grille were very accommodating. I worked with the Mt. Crested Butte wedding planner, Tracy Hastings, and the Restaurant Manager at the Woodstone Grille, Lauren Stock. Both were extremely nice and helpful.

Our wedding party reserved seating a private alcove located in the restaurant. The food was excellent quality and the waitresses who served us were good. We were even allowed to stay in the restaurant after hours to socialize with our wedding party.
