Owner description: The most popular park in the city, this 320-acre sanctuary offers recreation opportunities galore and houses the Denver Zoo, the Colorado Museum of Natural History and an IMAX Theatre.

There are more Canadian geese here than in most of Saskatchewan. Perhaps if we mandated that the city council members had to spend their weekends picnicking in goose poop, something would be done. But I digress. Lake, green grass and my dog chasing geese makes for a pleasant Sunday in the park.

Nice paths through the park. You can really make it any distance you want. Lots of geese around. Not as pretty as some parks, but it was winter.

The park is well laid out with plenty of space to accommodate all. Whether you want to ride your bike, run, play field sports, picnic, enjoy the lake, statues, gardens, or walk to museums or the zoo, it has it all. The are frequently events so be aware that parts of the park can be dedicated to that.

City Park is gigantic. In the area are the park itself, a lake, statues and monuments. The Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and City Park Golf Course are also parts of City Park. In the summers go to City Park Jazz on late Sunday afternoons for free live concerts by the lake.
