Really nice idea. All of 16th Street is closed off to traffic except for the Free Mall Ride buses. Opens up the street so you can do a lot of walking and window shopping. No shortage of tourist shops and better quality establishments. Really long street with tons of stores and restaurants, so you'll be grateful for the free bus ride back to your hotel.
Watch out in the early morning and late evening for the homeless who come out in droves. Looked like an episode of the walking dead the one early morning I went out for a walk. And the smell of pot everywhere gave me a head ache as you couldn't get away from the second hand smoke.

I think the idea of this mall is good, but it's not really anything special. The free bus goes up and down the line all day with a bus about every couple minutes. Just looks like any other street. As you get down towards Union Station, a little higher end and nicer places (especially Union Station). Spend your time there.

Great couple of blocks with your average stores, some novelty shops and PLENTY of bars and restaurants. There is a free bus that runs up and down this street which is very convenient. Very clean and visitor friendly. Some homeless people will approach you for money, but move on quickly when you smile and say no. Nice for a great stroll and some touristy shopping.

Tourist love the Mall especially at night and over the holidays when it's lit up with bright lights. It provides easy access to shopping, restaurants, the State Capital, Museums, DCPA and Coors Field. Locals shop elsewhere and dine downtown for business or when attending events. The homeless and vagrants diminish the experience. Incidents of people getting jumped/robbed have increased so be aware and don't travel alone or in unfamiliar areas. You can rent bikes for a day, catch an uber or pedal cabs. The place gets crowded when a convention is downtown or major events like the great american beer festival or comical come to town. Welcome to Denver but please don't stay! The city has become overrun with transplants!
