This was very unique to me. Me, my friend and her son rode on the free mall ride bus and not knowing that the strip that we was riding on was the mall. It was really cool, nice variety of stores. We ran into “Robo Mike” who was one funny character lol. It was nice and I enjoyed walking around down there.

Great area in certain places (up by the Denver Pavilions, in the middle by the Cheesecake Factory, and down by the Union Station). There are some great shops and restaurants/bars in/by the Denver Pavilions (highly recommend Henry's Tavern; try the giant pretzel with peanut butter and bacon dipping sauce; sounds disgusting but it was actually to die for!). The only downside to this area being downtown is there were quite a few unsavory characters (a lot of them wandering around high on marijuana). Just something to keep in mind, especially if you are walking by yourself.

Really nice idea. All of 16th Street is closed off to traffic except for the Free Mall Ride buses. Opens up the street so you can do a lot of walking and window shopping. No shortage of tourist shops and better quality establishments. Really long street with tons of stores and restaurants, so you'll be grateful for the free bus ride back to your hotel.
Watch out in the early morning and late evening for the homeless who come out in droves. Looked like an episode of the walking dead the one early morning I went out for a walk. And the smell of pot everywhere gave me a head ache as you couldn't get away from the second hand smoke.

I think the idea of this mall is good, but it's not really anything special. The free bus goes up and down the line all day with a bus about every couple minutes. Just looks like any other street. As you get down towards Union Station, a little higher end and nicer places (especially Union Station). Spend your time there.
