The overall mall area was busy and is a nice feature for the city. There are arts items and many eating and shopping areas. There was a very large population of homeless people, high people and police. After 10pm the entire street population changes and the feel is very different.

Hadn’t ventured downtown in Denver so got dropped off at the state Capitol building and walked in.

Lots of homeless folk/beggars/raving addicts on Colefax. Felt very wary/nervous with two young girls in tow. Was a bit grubby. Just lots of cafes you can sit outside and be beset by beggars.

We checked out a few sweet shops, had lunch and left didn’t feel the need to return st night to see the lights, definitely not with children.

Although we didn’t use them, the free buses running up and down the street are a great idea.

It was a beautiful day for a walk, but there was nothing that makes 16th Street all that special. There were alot of franchises.
I would recommend Pearl Street in Boulder.

This place was so great we went back several times. There is every kind of food and shop to explore as well as there are some great museums and attractions within walking distance. Plenty of safe parking.
