We stayed here June 22-24 to celebrate our 34th anniversary. We were married in Glenwood Springs and chose the Hotel Colorado for its location and history. Well those were the only two good things about it. The Hotel Colorado has lived on its historic reputation for too long. Rooms were incredibly overpriced for what I would call a two star hotel. We were told it recently changed hands and the new owners were adding window air conditioning units to the rooms. When asked if our room had one, the desk agent said she had no idea. Well, we didn't even have a screen in our window, nor did we have doors on our closet. Our bathroom sink was cracked and lacked any sort of plug. The carpeting is indoor/outdoor and when in the bathroom you can hear full conversations from elsewhere due to venting system. This hotel has certainly seen better days and the room rates need to reflect that.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any good rooms. There were a few set off by themselves on the first floor.

Overnight stay on our way back home. Got a Premium Two Bedroom Suite for my wife, son and myself. We've stayed at the HC a number of times and I always enjoy it. People may complain about things being old or worn or whatever. But it's old! It's a historic hotel and you need to fix your face for that. One thing that could improve are the mattresses. They're usually pretty hard.

Room Tip: Southern View

The lobby and courtyard areas are great and the desk staff are very nice.

Once you get to room it transforms from historic to old and tired. The furniture is 1970 'beat up motel' and things are just tired (freyed catpet & drapes, hole in sitting chairs, paint peeled in bathroom).

Even that would get it 3 stars but add to that it was not clean (hair in tub, big spot on duvet).. we were sent a text asking out our stay on first night. I noted the above but did not hear another thing. Note:The front desk did offer to send house keeping to clean the tub but we just cleaned it ourselves.

Walk through the lobby, have a drink in the courtyard, Talk with the nice desk staff...and then go stay somewhere else.

This is a beautiful hotel and had a wonderful location. You can walk downtown and walk to the hot springs. The Glenwood bike trail is also right near by. They have an elegant
Dining room for breakfast and an open bar terrace on the patio.
Loved it!

A year ago stopped for dinner and was intrigued by the hotel and wanted to spend a bit more time. So this year spent two nights during the week.

We selected a basic room, King bed in their Victorian style, which meant private bath and toilet, with sink in the main bedroom. The linens were nice and new, but some of the room furnishing need updating, with nicks and the like. The ceilings were high and the room seemed spacious because of it. Note: upon checkout we received a note that the hotel was changing ownership. (Perhaps the aforementioned items will be changed.

The outdoor dining area was lovely! The indoor dining was open for breakfast only and it was fine, good coffee and basic breakfast priced fairly. The dinner menu was interesting although just bit high and not large.

The indoor lobby spaces were sweet! Historic photos on the walls, interesting antique cash registers on display. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. And the location was perfect to walk to the Hot Springs pool and across to the downtown area with shops and restaurants.

Am curious to stop by again to see what changes have taken place!
