Stayed this week at the Wolf Den. We had a wonderful time. Cottages are in a great location and vintage and homey and well maintained. Mary is a very nice lady and made us feel welcome. Will return again.

Cabins are located on the edge of town short walk to anywhere in town nice and quiet you feel like you are in the country. Older comfortable cabins with all you need Mary (the manager ) and I got our wires crossed I thought I booked 5 days she had us down for 4 days we really weren't wanting to look for a place to stay for 1 night but Mary worked it out and we got to stay 1 more night. Thanks Mary. We had a great stay

We held a small family reunion here end of June 2018. We rented 7 of the cabins and were all pleased. My husband, daughter and I stayed in deer trail cottage. It was plenty big enough (second bedroom is quite smalll but fine). Even hosted a night of slides and home movies in our cabin and accommodated 16 comfortably to watch. We all really enjoed the area outside deer trail where there is a grassy yard common area and a couple tables, plenty of chairs and two 3 person swings. Plenty of outdoor seating and a tent for shade when needed. We spent a lot of time out there. Love how close to everything it was including pretty creek nearby and very close to lake and public beach. Groceries should be purchased on the way in town- Granby has a full supermarket. In Grand Lake, there are only some small stores. Deer Trail was very well equipped to be able to cook in. We paid $267/night which was alittle high but worth it to be close to our group. Really enjoyed the lake boat tour and close proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park and wonderful hiking trails. Overall, great trip! Clean, well stocked, comfortable cabins and very polite and helpful management. Hope to return!

Room Tip: Deer trail is one of the best from what I saw

We stayed in the Macinaw cabin and it was perfect for two. These are rustic cabins, but recently remodeled and they look great. Ours had a Queen bed, futon, kitchen, and a small but great shower! Lots of water power. This cabin is at the end of the dirt road which has 3 other cabins. Didn't feel like we were crammed in at all. For being so close to town it felt like we were out in the country. You can walk everywhere. There is a small breakfast place on the boat dock where you can also rent boats. We loved staying here and will be back. Owners are terrific!

Room Tip: Mackinaw, Ramona, Hillside, are on this lane.

We booked all 12 cottages, exclusively, for a 5 day, 4 night family reunion. Our hosts were just attentive enough to make sure everyone had what ever was needed, and completely unobtrusive beyond that. We were all quite pleased with how well the cottages were kept and equipped; very rustic, bark-sided on the outside. Spotless, charming, dramatically updated on the inside. As a result of the tenor, set by our hosts, and the quality of our accommodations we reciprocated with respect and appreciation for their property and all that was provided for us. No doubt some of us will be back, more than once, most likely.
The need for a vehicle during our stay, was nearly non-existent. Located at the east end of a five block main street, restaurants, shops, bakeries, coffee stops, park, summer-stock theater, bars are all within an easy stroll. Extensive lake activities are less than two blocks away. I think of this as a blue-collar resort town, within the means of far more people than Aspen, Vail or even Steamboat Springs.
As well equipped as the cottage kitchens are, the local markets are primarily for essentials and common tourist fair. An expansive, new City Market is located in Grandby, which is a 30 minute drive away.
We had planned our gathering 2 years in advance - waiting for some youngsters to be old enough to appreciate it. Well worth the time and anticipation. Is there a six-star rating?

Room Tip: Cottages vary from two-person to ten. Two cottages on the ridge top have a view.
