We stayed in room 105, a king on the ground level. The female owner [it is apparently a husband/wife team, I wasn't being sexist, 'just didn't remember her name] greeted us and got us checked in promptly and with good humor. The room was better than I expected although not really top notch. It was equipped with a nice king bed and furniture that appeared to be designed for some other space, perhaps second hand. Don't get me wrong, it was clean and functional, just not correct for the room. It had a armoire located right next to a good sized closet. Odd?
Everything in the room worked as it should. Lots of hot water, a mini fridge and microwave as well as a hair dryer rounded things out. Still the building is older and while in good repair, the bath was tiny with the sink and counter out in the bedroom.
The owners did a great job whenever we asked for anything and even made dinner reservations for us. The outdoor fire pit was a big plus since we were there with a large group and gathered there in the evenings.
I didn't experience any of the B&Bs in Hotchkiss but the Hotchkiss Inn was clearly the best motel lodging in town and a decent value to boot.
