Review of Crag Crest Trail

Crag Crest Trail
Reviewed 2 September 2017 via mobile

We wanted to hike a trail less travelled and this was a good fit. It's about 2.5miles of dirt road from hway, several parking areas at the trail head. Beautiful hike with good portions under the tree line so it doesn't get too hot. When it does open to the meadows it is breathtaking. Hike to the top for a 360 view of surrounding areas.

I hiked this one time back in the early 90's, I had intended on just hiking into one of the lakes to fish and ended up fishing a few days then just went a head and did the trail. If you have Teens and are in good shape this would make for a awesome family hike.

If you are looking for a hike on Grand Mesa the Crag Crest Trail is the best. You can do it as a loop or an out and back hike. If you do the out and back the east end is the most spectacular. A little climb to get on the ridge and then it's just spectacular! Wonderful views and some pretty big drop offs along the way. Fun hike!
