Very friendly staff holding court in a wonderfully “home” atmosphere - it just feels good! Nice Italian menu - we had the casa salad and the casa vegetarian lasagna which were masterful but not over the top. Overall - welcome home! It just feels good.

The atmosphere at dinner is upscale in the dining room with comfortable spacing between tables and nice visual appeal. The Italian wine selection is adequate with a lot of Tuscan, Piedmont, Veneto and Sicilian wines but disappointingly missing some other key regions, notably no Umbrian vineyards are represented. Neither did we see any organic wines, such as a delightful and consistently-awarded Chianti Classico, Badia a Coltibuono that should be part of every fine restaurant's cellar. For our antipasti, we selected the piatto di salumi for 2 that presented well and was excellent. We also tried the gazpacho soup, almost to see if an Italian restaurant might prepare this Spanish soup with a bit of a twist. Served very cold, it again, was a wonderful presentation but it missed the mark with this reviewer, with the soup being overwhelmed with too much bell pepper and salt. For our primi piatti, we tried the spaghetti polpette that is delightful; served with a generous serving of pasta, three angus beef and heritage pork meatballs, and a san Marzano sauce. The pasta is not handmade but was cooked perfectly and served hot. I recommend you try the Polpette from the antipasti menu or with this dish--you won't be disappointed. We also tried the fettuccine, a better pasta choice-that was housemade. The Caesar salad was true. In fairness, we decided not to continue our meal, and if we were to return, we would try their sea bass, lamb chops and see how they prepare the Sicilian braciole. The biggest disappointment was that the service was not spot-on; as the atmosphere and menu demands that level of service. A dirty fork was rolled in our fresh linen. The waiter didn't attend the table after delivery of the primi piatti, our water glasses remained empty through the meal; very, very basic service errors that might keep guests from ever returning. Clearly, they are a favorite spot to dine but their level of attentiveness suggests that they have no design on becoming noticed by Michelin.

Every bite of food in the hidden gem is wonderful but the menu for lunch is great deli and lighter fare with unique salads. Dinner becomes a fine dining experience. When the weather is nice the outside tables are the way to go. The live music at night can be a bit load to carry on dinner conversations. Enjoyable, just a small venue and the sound really carries.

About 3 or 4 times a year when I need to have some private time from the stresses at work, I'll drive from Gunbarrel in Boulder to Niwot for a nice lunch under the outdoor umbrellas at Treppeda's. It's good food and quiet.

This small comfortable restaurant next to the Niwot Inn has consistently been a delight. The service, the wine, the food--all on point. Without hesitation I will eat here, even driving from Boulder. There are specials, and then the seasonal menu and I have never had a bad meal.
