Bad internet, doesn't even open google maps. Bad heating system, temperature went up to 84 need to open window to cool down the room. No breakfast included after paying more than 100 bucks too, such a shame. Place is solitude, not a happening place away from downtown completely opposite as shown in the pictures. The only thing good in this place is clean bathroom and comfortable bed.

Thank you for your review, Prashant! My husband and I just purchased the lodge (April 2018) and are are responding to all previous reviews as we care very much about each of our future guests expectations + experience with us.
We ramped up internet service to the highest capacity currently available in the mountains / canyon. While we understand the desire and occasional need to be connected, we hope our guests appreciate the opportunity to disconnect and take in the absolutely stunning and unmatched beauty of the San Juan Mountains and magical Ouray. You are correct on the temperature settings in our guest rooms, It is very powerful and sensitive system and each degree of increase on the thermostat will deliver significant warmth. I clarified our location in our property profile, we are located three (3) blocks north of the Ouray Hot Springs which can be accessed via the Uncompahgre River Walk behind the lodge, across the street from Horsethief Trailhead and .5 miles from downtown Ouray.
We have many exciting upgrades and enhancements in the works at the lodge including a new lobby + new linens! We hope you have the opportunity to try us again!

This older property is on the north edge of town but just one-quarter mile north of the Ouray Hot Springs Pool and visitors center accessible via the Uncompahgre River Walk. The management was cheerful and helpful. The lobby/common area was comfortable with plenty of seating, books and games. Our stay in the Loft apartment fit our needs perfectly with a full-size stove and small fridge with freezer. Behind the lodge is a barbecue area with three grills and a wonderful gas (smokeless) fire pit perfect for viewing the moon and stars over the town. Also immediately behind the lodge is the Ouray Café which served very tasty meals at discount to lodge guests. The Old Horsethief trail head is across highway 550 for access to spectacular views, little waterfalls in Bridalveil Creek and historic mines. Check out the interesting store next door at 1500 Main Street.

First of all, the pictures are misleading. Second, I should have been put on notice for low expectations when the manager told me that "they don't do house-keeping every day" but if we wanted fresh towels, to just put the sign on the door-knob. Third, both my husband & I got a lousy night's sleep because the entire bed jiggled any time either one of us moved -- the mattress was that unstable! And the pillows are foam bricks.

We paid $130 per night (plus taxes) for a 2-night stay, so this place is NOT cheap.

My recommendation: Stay far, far away.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. In response to your concerns;

PICTURES: All online pictures advertising our property are accurate depictions of our rooms, however, each room is somewhat unique with respect to décor, paint scheme, etc. We would have gladly shown you another room if you had mentioned you were dissatisfied.
HOUSEKEEPING: We are happy to fully service your room daily, but ask that you simply hang the door hanger outside by noon. This allows us to be somewhat green and also keep our rates low.
BED JIGGLING: After reading your review, we inspected your room and found that the box spring was damaged by a previous guest (a child jumping on the bed can cause this). Box springs are not regularly inspected, subsequently, we rely upon a guest to let us know if there is a problem. We have since added this item to our regular inspection list.
PILLOWS: Some time ago, we sampled and tested multiple pillows and the ones we currently use received the best guest feedback. However, we do maintain a small supply of softer, thinner pillows in the office for the occasional guests who prefers them.
RATES: Over your stay, we offered the lowest rates in Ouray. Nearly every night of the year, you will find that we offer the best rates in town. Please keep in mind that Ouray is a destination town and summer is peak season for us; subsequently, rates are higher this time of year. This is common practice in the hospitality industry worldwide.
CANCELLATION POLICY: As of mid-September, we are changing our cancellation policy to 3-days (except for holidays and special event dates).

When staying in hotels in the future, please always notify the front desk if you are unhappy and give them the opportunity to rectify the problem, rather than waiting to return home to write a negative review. We could have easily and gladly resolved your concerns if we had been notified. We hope you otherwise enjoyed your time in Ouray.

Despite what it says on TripAdvisor when you filter for 'pet friendly' IT IS NOT Staff at the hotel were very friendly and did not charge me for a late cancellation because I made it with erroneous TripAdvisor information

Manger was quite helpful. Room was spotless and the location was perfect....close to center of town and close to running creek in back of property. The location is an easy walk to town for perusing all the quaint old-time renovated buildings and businesses.
