On a drive from Toronto to Halifax, I ran into early morning fog near Florenceville.
I noticed a roadside billboard for the Florenceville Inn and decided to take a stay there for a short rest.
I asked for a room from 6am until noon and was a bit surprised that the charge was for a full day, but that's not why I gave this hotel my first "poor" rating.
This hotel is old and tired. The room was not clean... there were pieces of pretzel ground into the dirty shag-like carpet. All I wanted was a quiet place to sleep, but even though I had a room at the back corner of the hotel, the squeaking floors above my room made it very difficult.
Lots of small motels are old and tired, which is usually reflected in the price.
Even thought this hotel is dated, tired and sort of tacky, the cost of staying here is the same as staying at far nicer accommodation.More
