“Nashville Ski Club 2012 visit”
Reviewed 15 January 2012

28 members of the Nashville Ski Club visited the Crestwood Lodge in Snowmass from Jan.11- 17, 2012. WE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME!!!! Everyone at the Crestwood went way above and beyond to make our visit perfect. The location is perfect....ski in-ski-out, ski storage, transportation, hot tubs, exercise room, they have everything.

We will definitely stay here again...Ask for Shawn

Room Tip: My condo was in the Grape Building and the view was great!!!

There is not enough characters on this page to say all the good things about the Crestwood Condos. But still, we try...The highlights: Condo 1212 was beautifully updated with wood and tile accents, and a new granite-accented kitchen. All the appliances were brand new and the place was spotless. Although the owners had some photos on the walls, there was very little to show that this place was family owned (which it is). Our balcony was furnished and equipped with a gas grill, all of which overlooked the main Village Express lift just a few steps away.

We were directly behind the lobby area, which had heated pool and two steamy hot tubs, all three of which were immaculately clean and well-maintained. The lobby area had television and newspapers from all over the country, which was convenient. Best of all, in Snowmass, these condos were ski-in/ski-out near the bottom of the main life and gondola lines.

Further, the Crestwood had partnered with Incline Ski pro-shops for a satellite office for storage, rentals and sales. Joey who manned the office was an excellent resource and handled both tuning my board and my girlfriend's rental ski setup. As a native and long-time resident, his help was appreciated getting ski, board, mountain, trail and even restaurant tips. He found us some great trails despite the snow conditions not being ideal. Take advantage of Joey's help to take your Snowmass experience to the next level.

The front desk staff (too many to mention by name) were extremely helpful, courteous and prompt. We took advantage of the shuttle service all over the town, and enjoyed the variety of wonderful people on the staff. Everyone from those that came to CO for the summer rock climbing to a beautiful young lady that moonlights for Elite models were represented, and all were super. Best of all, the desk staff was so attentive that several days after leaving they called to tell me that they found my (monetarily worthless) lucky hat -- you know, the one I have NEVER been injured while boarding -- and sent it back to me in Miami Beach.

While the condo was lovely and convenient, it could not compete with the quality of the people. It is they that made the experience move from a fine vacation to an unforgettable stay. It is simply impossible to exaggerate the good experience, and when I return to Snowmass there is nowhere else that will get my money.

Room Tip: Ask for a "remodeled" unit. Otherwise you get a clean decent and sort of dated looking uni...

We had a fairly good stay during Xmas break 2011. Unfortunately, the snow conditions were not great so the trip was not as good as it could have been! The location of the Crestwood is AMAZING -- and would have been even better had there been snow! That being said, the location did make it easy to get to what runs there were. The easy ski in/ski out access made travellng with kids simple. The outdoor space (pool, hot tub, lobby area) all look recently reno'd and are very nice, clean and welcoming. Some of the units DEFINITELY need some updating!! Our unit (#3202) had a fairly updated (although tiny) kitchen and living area. But the bedrooms were VERY outdated and kind of "icky" (low, dark ceilings, etc). I know they can't do much about the height of celings since that is how they built them years ago. But they need to re-think the decor. My son (sleeping on a top bunk) kept hitting his head on the ceiling!! The carpet seemed slightly updated but the furnishing, fixtures, electronics, etc were all VERY outdated. The view from our room was either a parking lot on one side or ANOTHER parking lot on the other side. This could very noisy at night and in the morning with people coming and going and the CONSTANT sound of the Shuttle Bus backing up every 20 minutes! Since the building is old it is very noisy! Our upstairs neighbours sounded like they were moving furniture all day and night. The building -- although ideally located -- is designed awkwardly with steep steps taking you to the various levels. If there had actually been snow some of those stairs would have been hard to handle.
Even with all the negatives, the staff is THE FRIENDLIEST staff I have ever met. Very attentive and kind. They really made the stay much better. There is not much they can do about outdated rooms since it is a condo hotel that is owned privately by people who have not updated it enough. They need to invest in a few more updated furnishings, update the bathrooms (they seemed old and icky, dark and creepy), get better windows (esp the ones facing the windy cold mountain).
Not sure if I would stay here again as Snowmass does have a lot of condo style places. But the location is amazing and the staff are incredible!!!!! Hands down, THE NICEST staff I have ever dealt with on any ski vacation!!

Room Tip: Ask for one that has been updated. Stay away from ones overlooking main parking lot where Town Shutt...

Our condo was newly renovated and it was amazing!! The staff here was great. They took us and picked us up anywhere we wanted to go. The location was right by the slopes and very convenient as well. We are very pleased and would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: We were in the Grape building, room 1220. It was so nice and it was like new inside!

We booked a 1 bedroom + loft deluxe for a family of 5 for Spring Break and we were upgraded upon arrival to a "premier" at no charge. Our unit 1203 had been completely renovated with granite countertops, new appliances, etc. Front desk and staff were very accomodating with pick up to and from Aspen Airport and trips to grocery store, even helping unload groceries. Location was ski in and out with easy access to new base village express lift and elk camp gondola. Only complaints would be lack of elevators and noise from outside and other units. Having said that, I would definitely stay here again. We had friends that stayed "up the hill" by the old village and paid double what we did. We rarely went to their place because we had everything we needed close to or at the Crestwood.

We had a wonderful week long stay at the Crestwood. The staff were really helpful and we loved our room. We are not the easiest family to get along with (I was travelling with my sister and parents) but they were really nice to us. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Our unit was really well equipped and it was extremely convenient having a small ski shop so close by. We did a lot of our own cooking.

The location was awesome -- we were right on Snowmass, and had the best skiing we have ever experienced.

It helped that we were at the end of a long row so our unit was real ski in and ski out. Not all the units will be like this, but they are pretty good in general.

We did get some noise from above, and some of the decor and interior was a bit weird given the price of the rental (dated and not in a cool retro way) -- I think that is part of the deal though with condo style places.

We may have overpaid, but that is not their fault (we booked through a tour operator).

Again though, really loved it -- it was nice not having to fight with crowds in cafeterias at lunch time. True ski in ski out with our choice of two of the main lifts (Elk Camp Condola and Village Express) below us on the hill.

We had a wonderful stay at the Crestwood in Snowmass.

It was recently refurbished about 3 years ago and what a difference! Our condo, #1102, was ski-in/ski-out and we could walk down easily to the new Snowmass Village where all the action is. And take the Skittle Shuttle up to the main village.

The condo is a one bedroom, king bed, with a double pull-out couch. Perfect for our small family and was very affordable.

The staff was professional and friendly. I will rent here again and again.
