“Great location, and awesome hot tub”
Reviewed 17 January 2012

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights for a snowboarding trip. We booked a king deluxe room through sniqueaway.com
The location is unbeatable. The free gondola is literally right outside the window. There is also a chair lift that takes you midway up he mountain.
As much as people say other hotels have shuttles that take them to the lift, you cannot beat the convenience of taking off your skis/board and just walking 5 steps into your hotel.
Telluride main st is 1 block away and since the town is quite small, you can walk to all the eateries/museum/stores.
Our room was very spacious and had lots of storage space (large wardrobe and drawers). Lots of lamps and many outlets in literally every corner of the room which I loved being that nowadays everyone has a phone/iPad/computer/camera etc that needs charging.
Bed was super comfortable and lots of pillows.
Bathroom was huge and even came with cotton balls and q tips; details that make a guest feel welcome.
Large flat screen (but no hd :( )
Despite the gondola being right outside, we were not bothered by any noise but we were there during a lull (lack of snow)
Breakfast got tiring by the 3rd day, bagels, instant oatmeal, cereal, bananas, pastries and such. Good selection of teas, hot chocolate, coffee. But considering price of eating out in telluride, we figured it wasn't so bad.
Hot tub is beautiful. Amazing view!
Friendly staff.
Only strange problem, which really is a first world problem, is that it was sooooo hot in the room. We turned off the heat but apparently it never turns off. We had to keep the windows open to make it bearable. I love being warm, so for me to be too hot, it says a lot. (room 211)
Also this didn't help the dryness. Humidifier in room would have bumped up to 5 stars.
Overall highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Camel Garden in from one of those online deal websites. I could not have been more happy. The deal included some drinks and spa services. The location is the key for this place right where the chairlift is and you can get to the main street where all the night life and restaurants are located. As well as get on the chair lift to go to the other part of the mountain if you want to have dinner there. The staff was very friendly and very good with recommendations. I look forward to going back this year.

We just returned from Telluride and I must say, Camel Garden is THE place to stay. The room was large and included a fireplace and balcony. The oversized tub was very comfortable. The down blanket kept us very warm. Not to mention the huge hot tub with an attached sauna and nice warm towels to use. The parking is underground and very convenient. When we checked in, Autumn was gracious and welcoming and set the mood for our stay. Because we went during the off season, the Gondola, wasn't working, but during ski season, I can see where it would be super convenient since it is a just a few steps from the hotel. Also, there is a ski lift. Great location, would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends as well.

We stayed here during the fall, off season in Telluride. The room was really well done and immaculate. The amenities of a roof top hot tub and steamroom were great and would appeal to us in any season. The hotel has a breakfast included which was very good, with a large dining room and great variety. Parking is underground, which is especially nice in the winter. The location is just two blocks from the main street, and located right at the base of the gondola, you couldn't pick a better spot. We had great attention by housekeeping, and the front desk was very helpful day and night. We will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We appreciated being on the second level, easy access by stairway to groundfloor but nice to be on t...

My sister in law and I stayed here the first week of October on a Groupon deal. The location is right next to the free gondola service that takes you up to the Mountain Village. The hotel is within walking distance to downtown Telluride. In the summer season, the Thursday night Art Walk was a lot of fun and the Friday farmer's market is set up right outside the hotel on Oak St. The room had a European feel with clean lines and nice furnishings. Quilts with duvet covers and good selection of pillows. Flat screen TV with good selection of channels. Our room was spacious with a view of the gondola, the marble bathroom had a huge tub and lots of storage. Continental breakfast was good, nice pastries, cereal, bagels, oj, and hot drinks. I guess the same area is used for wine reception during ski season. There are games and a small library. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel has an attached restaurant/bar and spa. The large hot tub has a beautiful view. This is a great base to enjoy all that Telluride has to offer.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, you might want a room away from the gondola during ski season, as the area is a r...

We stayed here with a coupon, so our experience does not reflect paying a huge price - and it was 10/9/11-10/12/11, off season. We had a problem with our fireplace not working and were given the option of a room change or a discount for an extra night - we stayed and the fireplace was fixed. The room (#219) was a corner room with lovely windows with a mountain view, a balcony, said fireplace, a big bathroom - lovely amenities and a great place to stay.
