We very much enjoyed our recent stay at the Vail Cascade. It is located about a mile away from Lionshead and 1.5 miles from Vail Village so it is a little quieter and situated in a nice natural setting. There is a very convenient free shuttle that comes about every 10-15 min so a car is not needed. Most of the resorts seem to have a free shuttle. One of the favorite parts of our stay was a walk along Gore Creek just behind the hotel. There is a path that takes you to both Lionshead and Vail Village with lots of scenic photo opportunities.

The room was clean and comfortable. No issues at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got engaged and they upgraded our room. The ski concierge was a very nice feature. Store skis and boots there next to their own lift for free. You can ski back to the resort from the main mountain but not if you are a beginner as the "Simba" run is blue and somewhat steep in places. You'll have to shuttle back in that case which is only a short ride.

The breakfast buffet was delicious every morning. It's a bit pricy for big family at 24$ for adults but hey, it's Vail. The lounge has great munches and pizza in the evening. We did not try dinner in their restaurant but the menu looked good. There is also a little store/deli with everything you need.

The pool area was quite nice with a couple of fire pits and rockers. The pool itself was not quite warm enough for our liking but was nice. There was only one outdoor hot tub which remained crowded after ski time. There is an indoor one also
in the spa but we did not see it.

Overall we really enjoyed the hotel and would stay there again based on quality, convenience, and price.

Dear Dwhitake,
Comprehensive reviews like yours are so very appreciated! Many of our guests are pleasantly surprised to see how expansive our resort is and all the great amenities we offer, especially our location on Gore Creek. Many people don’t know that it’s actually rated as a gold medal stream so we would love to have you back this spring or summer for some fly fishing. It’s beautiful! Glad to hear that your stay was enjoyable and relaxing – we do hope you return again and ask that you let us know if you need anything to make your next visit even more memorable.

Thanks for posting your review!

Our room was amazing! We could walk out our patio door to the hot tub and pool. Not to mention the picturesque Colorado stream running right behind it all. The staff was super friendly, and the fireplace lounge was the place to hang out. An extremely prompt shuttle service got us all around. Oh, did I mention they have their own lift on to the mountain!!!

Just returned from an 11 night stay at the vail cascade. Had a brilliant time and highly recommend the hotel. Lovely rooms, excellent service, great swimming pool and hot tub. breakfast included in the room rates - a wide selection of bagels, pancakes, pasteries, eggs, bacon, chef on hand to cook omlettes/eggs, juice, tea.coffee, fresh fruits, yoghurts, granola, muselii....and much much more!

the shuttle runs from he hotel about every 10mins and goes to Lionshead and Vail. Included is a ski concierge service who take your boots and skiis and store and warm them over night.

Generally a great hotel.

The staff was incredibly friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Although it was on the outskirts of vail, it had great transportation available. Lionshead is under 5 minured away. We would definitely stay there again.

- Under the radar excellent food from a chef that isn't afraid to try different things
- Interesting new micro brew offerings
- Without going outside, you can wake up in your well kept room, take an elevator to get your coffee at cool cafe, then walk into a peaceful mountainview restaurant to have a wide array of eccletic breakfast items while sitting fireside reading the paper, then head down the hall to the ski concierge/rental shop in the building to get all fitted/suited up with some of the best ski rental equipment. The ski concierge valet team will place your equipment right next to the ski lift outside the resort door. You then shuffle maybe 30 feet or so to the lift ticket stand, then another 20 feet or so and you are on the lift heading up the mountain.
- And, all this with much less congestion of the other resorts.
- Then when you are done on the mountain and tired from a full day of skiing, no lugging your equipment, you just ski right back to the door to resort, dump your equipment with the ski valets and off to your room or high end spa inside the resort.
Hands down best place to stay in Vail....extremely clean, has everything to offer and affords very easy access to all other areas of Vail without the congestion and lines at other resorts/locations.

Dear RealEstateIsTheBest
We are so pleased that you not only enjoyed your stay, but also that you took the time to write a detailed description of our resort. Some potential guests don't realize that although we’re not located in the heart of Vail Village, we offer an extensive list of amenities, and your review will be helpful to many. We’re glad you we’re able to partake in our new creative cuisine, craft beer program. As Vail’s first restaurant to explore the fine art of uniting craft beer with creative cuisine, Atwater extends the brewing tradition to an interactive menu of savory food, dessert and beer pairings.

Thanks again for your thoughtful review; we hope to see you again soon!

This was our second trip to the Vail Cascade. My husband was attending a conference and I was along for the fun stuff. We upgraded our room to a Deluxe Suite and were on the ground floor on the east side of the hotel property. It was a beautiful location, just steps from the creek. The room was clean, nicely appointed and spacious. There were a couple different places you could sit and read your book and look up at the mountain.
We ate at the Gorge Restaurant, simply delicious. First class meal. We also hung out at the bar in the lobby. Atmosphere is good, there was live music one night. There are a lot of families, so a lot of kids hang out in that lobby too.
This property is to the west of "main" Vail. All the shopping and hot restaurants are a shuttle ride away. But we only felt the need to do that once and that was enough.
I did take a Cardio Tennis clinic and a Private Tennis Lesson and LOVED both of them. The clinic was a mix of locals and tourists; high paced, great instruction - this was actually the highlight of the trip for me.
The skiing was not great the week we were in Vail. But the location to the slopes is second to none. The full service ski concierge is AMAZING! You are being waited on hand and foot, simply say what you need and it's there. Just snap into your skis and sit on the lift. It's that easy.
A great trip!

Dear MerCooke,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your recent stay with us. We're glad that you discovered some of the benefits that are occasionally overlooked, such as the tennis classes available at Aria Spa & Club. We’re fortunate to have one of Vail Valley’s best tennis pros, Pete Anderson, and were recently recognized as a “Top 50 Tennis Resort” in North America by Tennis Magazine. There are so many things to do and see in Vail and it sounds like you enjoyed many of them. We hope you and your husband return to Vail Cascade soon!

We stayed here during a weekend late in Feb. Most other places in Vail were booked or ridiculously priced. We were happy to find a nice looking place with good to great reviews on tripadvisor. Let me disclose that I don't ski or do many winter sports, was in CO for a convention so thought I'd spend some extra time in the area when work was done. The resort looks nice from the outside, and reasonable on the inside. So I think the pictures that are on the web and on tripadvisor are accurate. The location seems great. There is a resort fee that covers things like gym access and WiFi, so thats a good thing to be aware of. The rooms are reasonable, though we requested a king bed and got a double bed. We had to make due since all of the rooms were booked. Makes sense to call ahead and confirm the online reservation you make doesn't get screwed up. The gym is nice, with very nice locker room facilities (nice showers, sauna, etc). I guess what really soured my opinion of this facility is the absolute lack of sound proofing in the rooms. You can hear subtle things like people sneezing in the halls and adjacent rooms. My hunch is that this is a GREAT place for an avid skier, with a family. Not for someone looking for a high end or boutique experience.

Room Tip: call ahead to make sure online reservations don't get screwed up

Dear filmhero,
Comprehensive reviews like yours are much appreciated! We agree that while it is beneficial to have easy access to Vail Mountain with our chairlift, there are many other wonderful activities and things to do besides snow sports. With our expansive 78,000-square-feet fitness center with basketball court, three indoor tennis courts, yoga studio, heated pools and more, we hope our guests never get bored….any time of year. We are sorry to hear you that you did not receive the best night of sleep; however, we appreciate hearing your feedback as we continue to improve our product. In April, we will begin enhancing our guest room experience by replacing all our beds with new Serta mattresses. We made these improvements based on customer feedback and we hope that making this change will positively impact our guest's experience and will help to create a restful night of sleep for everyone.

Thanks again for your candid and thoughtful feedback,
