“Great stay!”
Reviewed 19 February 2012

Location was perfect right across from village and very short walk to lift. Price was very economical for the accomodations. Got a studio and it was very spacious with a kitchenette and a very big bathtub. Very clean and seemed newly remodeled. Staff was very friendly. Paid extra$14 for heated underground parking. Been skiing here before about 10 years ago but it got so much better with more trails and more activities. Although still no real nightlife but i was in bed anyway by 8. Get discounted lift tickets online or thru liftopia. Less than two hours from Denver so maybe I'll make it back here sooner than 10 yrs next time.

Location was perfect. The hotel was just across the street from winter park village and major ski lifts. The location was also in close proximity to restaurants and bars. The room was decorated nicely but the bed was like sleeping on a sack of rocks. Also housekeeping did not clean my room. The service was not acceptable for price paid per night. But you can't beat the location.

Great place. Excellent accommodations. Had a studio, but it was very large. Well furnished. Comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Just across the street from the slopes. VERY short, easy walk to slope. Glad we stayed at Fraser instead of Zephyr...was less expensive, but location and accommodations were excellent.

Room Tip: Fraser Crossing and Founders Point are side-by-side. Stay in Fraser Crossing...it's a closer wa...

Very clean, quite, modern and comfortable! Stayed in a studio in 4360. Was more room than we needed. Close to the hot tub, across the road from the lifts. Will be back!

Room Tip: Enough room for 4, a ton of amenities we didn't even use! Full kitchen with everything you need...

We went for Thanksgiving weekend, there was a one night free special so i booked the cheapest room they had, it was a studio with a little kitchen and coffee maker, it was perfect for us, we made breakfast every morning and used the huge hot tub every night. My 8 year old slept in the pull out couch, i do not think it would be comfortable for an adult but it was fine for her. the room is very large and comfortable. i didnt see a thermostat but the temperature was perfect for us. A couple we met at the hot tub mentioned it used to get very hot in the rooms, so i am glad they fixed that issue. They also recommended the Soup restaurant in the village, so we walked to the little sign to find it, they have the most awesome soups that they let you try. The best sandwiches ever. my 8 year old didnt like the pb&j, i think they used maple flavored peanut butter. We plan on making this our new yearly thanksgiving trip. Oh its a little hard to find in the night, you have to check in across the street at the Zephr, my only complaint is that it does not say that on your confirmation.

Just returned and I miss it already!!! Very clean! We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit and it was warm and cozy. It had a gas fireplace with a switch to turn it off and on. We had a ceiling fan in our unit so we used it when it got warm. We only stayed for 3 nights so there was no maid service but we didn't need one since we had plenty of towels on hand. Everything closes early so make sure you get out early. Can't wait to go back! Enjoyed it!

Maybe I have become jaded by my increasing habit of staying at "top of the line" resorts and hotels, but I found the Fraser Crossing/Founders Pointe units to be rather dull and much more servicable than luxe.
Winter Park is a great ski area some 90 minutes from Denver. It has primarily been a day skiing area for decades due to its proximity to Denver, but in the past couple years has developed a very nice mountain base area, with restaurants and accomodations.
Founders and Fraser are two condo type buildings, side by side, directly across the road from the mountain base area.
We were there for one night last weekend, and saw units in each building.
The front desk folks, who seem to run at least 3 properties, were very cordial and helpful. The accomodations were clean, and servicable. The studios and one bedroom units were very clean, equipped with very functional kitchen units, and sofa hideabeds for extra sleepers. There is no air conditioning, but fans were provided; fine in the winter, but a little stuffy on a hot summer day.
It would appear that the units were intended for the family or budget minded visitor, as they were certainly not plush or deluxe; rather the units were very nicely "functional". The underground parking was useful, but the endless hallways eminating from the very few elevators were daunting.
Would we stay there again - maybe, if we were watching our dollars and planning on lots of skiing and preparing some meals in the unit to save some money. There is no swimming pool, and we never found the hot tub; really not a lot in the way of amenities. Great skiing access just 150 yds walk to the ski lift, and as I mentioned nice indoor parking and a very accomodating and cordial staff. The area is a popular mountain bike mecca, and this would be a good place to stay if that is your interest as the ski lifts are equipped to carry bikers and their bikes up the mountain to access a wide variety of trails.
It just wasn't our idea of a romantic getaway destination hotel.
