We normally stay in Hilton properties but they have gotten much more expensive in the last couple of years and charge considerably extra for our pet if they allow them at all. La Quinta welcomes pets and has proven more than adequate when we travel with the dog. Last time we stayed there a couple of years ago, we were satisfied with our room but the lobby and other public areas were dirty and very worn. This time it looked much cleaner and some needed renovation was obviously done. The room is small and certainly nothing special but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The attached Outback was convenient for a quick bite after arriving after dinner time. Overall, it is great value and a well-run 3-star-type hotel that is welcoming to both two-legged and 4-legged guests. It has very easy on/off I-84 access and adequate parking that feels private and secure (around back). There was a pool and hot tub thou8gh we did not have time to use it.

On a scale of 1-5, I would give this La Quinta a 9. Simply OUTSTANDING. CLEAN, helpful professional front desk staff, CLEAN room, bathroom. Nice airy breakfast area, well stocked.
As a solo traveling woman, I felt safe (which I cannot say for the hotel I looked at in Torrington). Even though it meant another hour of travel and a higher rate, I am so glad that I chose to push on and spend the night here. (I had been on the road since 4am).

Room tip: I was on 5th floor overlooking the pool

We stayed 1 night and enjoyed the hot tub and pool area that night. Our stay was quiet and enjoyable. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean. We had our dog so the only thing we were missing was a grassy area to walk her. We stayed in the back of the property and there was zero grass.

Nice and clean value room. Nice location, easy on off the exit. Nice staff and meet my needs. Located in Danbury Connecticut, and nicer than the hotels that are in a 5 mile radius. No entertainment around after 10 and has an Outback Steakhouse attached to it.

We were put up here for a week while we found a rental since our home was destroyed in the recent Connecticut storms. (1) you can't beat the commute, easy connection to I-84, although if you want to go east you need to navigate a roundabout. (2) staff was very helpful, especially Chris who unfortunately is leaving soon to take a management job, and Julia (3) I don't understand the people who are complaining about the food at breakfast. It's extensive and very good, especially for the northeast. (4) It is pet-friendly so we had our scaredy-cat with us and you could see people walking their dogs around the inside of the building (not much space on the outside) (5) if you like Outback Steakhouse, it is close enough that they share a parking lot and there is direct access to the Steakhouse from the hotel. The only thing we couldn't figure out was the climate control in the room (maintenance said it was working fine, we just couldn't figure out where heat was coming from if we needed it) and how to turn on the hot tub associated with the pool outside.

Room tip: Poolside is a probably a better view than highway-side. Get an even-numbered room if you're staying on the south side of the building.
