My adult daughter and I were in for our annual dad-daughter overnight. This time the destination was Hartford, for an excellent dinner at nearby Trumbull Kitchen and an afternoon UConn Women's basketball game the next afternoon.
We had booked a King Loft, and I was destined for a snooze on the pull-out couch while my daughter was to enjoy a rare full-night's sleep on the King bed. Joel, the gregarious and professional evening front desk supervisor, craftily upgraded us to a superior room with two king beds in separate bedrooms.
Affordable $17 self parking in the lot/ramp/garage immediately behind the hotel was a nice urban touch. The room was large, quiet and comfortable. Lines and towels were crisp and clean, the beds comfortable, and everything in the room "just so". The next morning, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in the lobby café, and a quick workout in the exercise room. A noon check-out made for a very enjoyable 18-hour stay.
Well-located in the heart of downtown on Main Street, and in the historic and beautifully-preserved Brown Richardson Building. Highly recommended.More
