Go to Taber Inne for the personal service and a family-run atmosphere. Everything you like is nearby - go there for that too! We loved the breakfasts in the center building and the lovely woman who ran them - possibly the matriarch?
The folks at the desk were very helpful in telling us where to go and how to get there. They took their time helping us. This was a huge bonus.
The pool was nice and it was well stocked with everything you need in the locker room.
Go to the beach about a mile away! It is called Williams Beach and has a fabulous playground for children there too. It is a nice morning walk/jog to this clean spot. It also has covered picnic benches. Swimmable.
A train runs directly behind the building (sometimes at night). Those who sleep super-lightly might be bothered. I slept through it.
Not everything is in tip-top shape, but it was clean and in good order. A good value for the money based on location and service, but it could use an update for sure.
I'd definitely go again! I'd bring pool toys/floats and eat across the street. There is also a Dunkin' Donuts and a fabulous ice cream shop (Sea Swirl) just a few houses down.
Stop at the Seaport! Worth the money and the pics you take will rule.More
